IRS Emails Impossible To Be “Accidently” Destroyed

Seems fairly obvious to me that this thing just gets dirtier as things go along. Another damn hearing isn’t going to solve the problem. You must bring criminal charges against Lerner and put her in front of a jury, if she chooses to plead the fifth then the jury can decide her fate. These stupid hearings have done nothing, IRS, Benghazi, Fast & Furious, The VA and nothing….nothing has come from the hearings except a bunch of politicians feign fake outrage and after, assume their job is done. Ridiculous.

Not that there was any doubt, but a Department of Justice lawyer has anonymously contacted Powerline Blog to say why the IRS claim about losing emails because of a computer crash is “laughable”:

I’m a DOJ lawyer, so you obviously cannot use my name or any identifying information. But the idea that a “hard drive crash” somehow destroyed all of Ms. Lerner’s intra-government email correspondence during the period in question [2009-2011] is laughable. Government email servers are backed up every night. So if she actually had a hard drive fail, her emails would be recoverable from the backup. If the backup was somehow also compromised, then we are talking about a conspiracy.

Keep up the good work.

He reiterates in a postscript:

I’m serious about your keeping any identifying information out of the media. Things are very, very bad.

  1. I wrote something similar to this on GOC a few minutes ago: I firmly believe that The Ayatollah Obama (may his head be forever shit upon by pigs) dictated to his willing toadies in the IRS to “lose” those e-mails. Because there is no way he can blame this one on President Bush. But, judging by his past actions and teleprompted words, he will damn sure try.

  2. Anyone who knows anything about IT knows that, in addition to the backups, ‘deleted’ files can be recovered (the files aren’t actually deleted – the links to them in the disk directory are). To ask us to believe that both the original files and their backups are lost and unrecoverable is like asking us to believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. No friggin’ way…

    1. CTT – If it wasn’t so corrupt it would be funny. I can’t believe they are going to hang their collective hats on this excuse….pathetic.
