OH Yea, There sits my (sob, former) Colt Python. Mine had a 4 inch barrel like pictured but was blued not crome. I carried it as my primary side-arm when i was in police work in the 1960’s.
Basically, semi-autos existed then, but were not accepted in my area because of numerous reports of “stoppages” due to failed extraction.
My weapon was loaded with 3 rounds of .357 lead staggered with 3 rounds of .357 Copper jacket “armor-piercing”. I figured a double tap would be effective on a person or either a car’s engine block.
Sadly, I had to sell this excellent weapon when marrital difficulties arose and I went on to persue another career.

Toejam, I feel your pain.
Toejam, that reeks. And to try to replace it now would be “prohibitive”.
