My process….
Turned out OK though…

I was restoring a MGB-GT 1969 until my back went south. I went with sandblasting- messy as hell.
replaced the floor panels and door sills.
lots of welding, even bought a spot welder to speed things up, and tongs to reach.
engine block and other parts where cleaned by electrolysis . slow, but works very well.
had a 24 volt forklift battery charger as a power unit. acid does look like it faster. might be worth the price. of course how far away is the place that does it though ?
BTW, your car looks very nice. cars where simpler back then and easy to work on. and I bet you did a lot to get it looking that good.
if I could get ahold of one, I would love to redo a
1968-70 chevy pickup truck myself. although working on it would be a stone bitch with my back the way it is now.
Heh, bought a 67 Cameron in 1973, paid $1800 dollars for it. Had a 30 dollar a month payment. Yeah, you read that correctly.
Got married in February of 1974, didn’t think I could afford the new wife and the car. Sold it to her uncle for $1500…ya, you read that correctly.
His girlfriend at that time drove it “enthusiastically ” and rolled it in a ditch. Totaled it out.
Sigh.
On a good note; still have the wife.
The second bath looked a lot cleaner. That would be The Ideal approach, but the DA sander and discovering the metal Down there is how most of us have to do it. I got a job in a shop so I could, one day, redo a car. Never got to it for myself, but I Did get to do a 64 Ford pickup with a 390 and a four speed for a boss. Body work is good. Keeps the brain focused and the reward is good.
Can’t paint, ugh.
Your Camaro is very nice.
Great car, bro. The 67 – 68 – 69’s are my favorites, hands down. Mine is a 69. The kicker is that I’m (no sheeiitt!) the original owner. It’s a plain jane with only a couple options. Factory A/C; PS. That’s it. LeMans Blue.
Forgot to add – it’s around ~86,000 ORIG miles. Orig metal; interior; and engine gaskets. Only the water pump gasket has been changed. 327/210 2 bbrl; powerslide; on the tree. NOT a resto, but has been repainted – with orig color LACQUER in 98/99.

Your Camaro looks great!
That acid dip sure does the job, any idea of what it costs to have the dipping done? Just curious..
