Keep your eye on the ball

A lot of people on social media complaining about getting rid of McCarthy as Speaker, I get it, some republicans assume that a powerful congressman from California can make deals that others can’t. I find that misguided in the extreme, McCarthy talked a tough game, but when it came to nut cuttin’ time he didn’t get it done…not once. (And roomies with Frank Luntz??)

We need a conservative firebrand version of Pelosi, the crazy old bitch took no prisoners and impeached Trump TWICE! McCarthy has been at it for a year and it’s failure after failure. We need someone with some balls to scare the hell out of the radical left and establishment right.

McCarthy made promises to get elected speaker, he betrayed those promises and is being held responsible, it’s quite refreshing actually.

  1. PeeLousy has been in Congress long enough to have dirt on just about everyone. Made it easier to blackmail people into going along with her schemes. And the RINO party is greedy and short sighted. They don’t have the ruthlessness and long game of the left.

  2. As an old bosun’s mate used to say “not worth the powder to blow his ass to hell.”

Or was it an old gunner’s mate?

    Either way, good riddance.

  3. Yeah, all the doom and gloom “oh this helps the Dims” I’m seeing from … basically every R commentator and blogger has been a surprise to me. I think this is a good thing — the status quo and not rocking the boat wasn’t working, so a nice little shaekup seems like it will more likely be helpful than not.

  4. I understand he’s been nominated. All the Dems will vote no, but the Rino’s will vote along with them. Maybe they can be given the Cheney treatment afterwards?

  5. McCarthy did not keep his promises to the Republicans plus he did backroom deals with the Senate and Biden. I saw many of the few Republicans that voted McCarthy out talk about him and said that he would not talk to them. That is not a leader and he should have been gone sooner. The GOP better straighten out or they will split into the MAGA party and what is left of the GOP will go away.

  6. Thank you! Accountability is a bitch, but how many people complain about politicians not keeping promises and now are fussing over McCarthy? The dude was the third iteration of Ryan and Cantor – just another one party go along to get along type. Gaetz may be a dick but he did the right thing.

  7. It’s going to be a problem with finding enough repubs with a backbone, since most are spinless, emasculated empty nut sacks.

  8. When you can’t trust someone supposedly on your side to keep his word, they are doing as much damage as if they were the enemy. And if they never pay a price for that dishonesty, the damage they do to morale is many times worse than just their own actions.

McCarthy deserved to be shitcanned as Speaker, because his inability to hold up his end of a bargain with his own people was a deeper, darker offense.

And when he told a reporter, in response to a question about Ashli Babbitt, that he thought the policeman who shot her was “just doing his job” it was clear that he has bought into the whole J6 fairytale. Which is telling.
