Everyone who participates in the Impeachment trial in the Senate is violating their of of office, which states:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”
Even if the Supreme Court ruled that the trial is unconstitutional, they would ignore the decision and go forward. They have no respect for the law or any court decisions if those decisions are not to their liking. They just keep changing the rules to justify their actions. Again, a criminal enterprise masquerading as a political party. Instead of having a trial, maybe they will just vote on a penalty without a conviction. Supposedly need only 50% for that decision.
And who or what exactly is going to stop them from impeaching the former president? They already don’t care about the law, so who or what stops them? Oh yeah…nothing and nobody.
