2008 Anyone?
I damn near lost everything for something I had nothing to do with in 2008. I have no sympathy for fed workers who will be reimbursed after the shutdown, nobody reimbursed me for the job I lost and the wages I missed out on for a year and a half…..bastards.

My niece is in the Coast Guard and she is not getting paid. Her I have sympathy for. The others, you’re correct. I know some government workers who get paid more than most and have benefits that are the top of the line. This begs the question, are they required to purchase health care benefits during the shutdown?
When we talk “government workers” we’re talking regulators and bureaucrats, not soldiers and sailors, not US Marshals or border guards. We’re talking about the folks that couldn’t get a job in the real world so their Uncle Billy “hooked them up” with a pal at the EPA.
