Michigan Rep. John Conyers and his fellow CBC members have plans to re-introduced legislation to set up a commission to consider whether reparations should be paid to black Americans for slavery. Conyers has been proposing the same bill every year for at least two decades. The bill would also consider the prospect of the federal government issuing a formal apology for the “racial and economic” discrimination against African-Americans.This despite the fact that slavery was outlawed over 150 years ago.

This may be a surprise to Mr. Conyers but the American people who work for a living already pay reparations in the form of welfare, EBT cards, housing subsidies, and other handouts paid for by the American taxpayer. So take your bill and shove it up your ass, we owe you nothing.

As a matter of fact, we have paid more into the “War on Poverty” than we have spent on real wars and what do we have to show for it?

Since that time, U.S. taxpayers have spent over $22 trillion on anti-poverty programs (in constant 2012 dollars). Adjusted for inflation, this spending (which does not include Social Security or Medicare) is three times the cost of all military wars in U.S. history since the American Revolution.   here…

Gov. Jerry Brown has asked President Trump to declare a major disaster for California because of damage from January storms.

The letter sent Friday says the relentless series of storms caused flooding, mudslides, evacuations, erosion, power outages and at least eight deaths. Northern California was hardest hit.

Brown says the storm system was so severe and widespread that state and local governments need federal assistance to continue dealing with the problems it created.

Hmmm….

“If Trump were ever elected, we’d have to build a wall around California to defend ourselves from the rest of this country,” Brown was quoted as saying by the Sacramento Bee

Just two weeks ago, Brown called Trump’s wall idea “absolutely preposterous,” in an interview with Bloomberg.

“It would create such tension with our closest neighbor that, probably, a dumber idea I can’t imagine,” Brown said to a Bloomberg Politics reporter.

Brown reassured his constituents that he would use protective measures for undocumented immigrants. “We will defend everybody, every man, woman, and child, who has come here for a better life and has contributed to the well-being of our state,” he said.
