Nothing To Show For It
Michigan Rep. John Conyers and his fellow CBC members have plans to re-introduced legislation to set up a commission to consider whether reparations should be paid to black Americans for slavery. Conyers has been proposing the same bill every year for at least two decades. The bill would also consider the prospect of the federal government issuing a formal apology for the “racial and economic” discrimination against African-Americans.This despite the fact that slavery was outlawed over 150 years ago.
This may be a surprise to Mr. Conyers but the American people who work for a living already pay reparations in the form of welfare, EBT cards, housing subsidies, and other handouts paid for by the American taxpayer. So take your bill and shove it up your ass, we owe you nothing.
As a matter of fact, we have paid more into the “War on Poverty” than we have spent on real wars and what do we have to show for it?
Since that time, U.S. taxpayers have spent over $22 trillion on anti-poverty programs (in constant 2012 dollars). Adjusted for inflation, this spending (which does not include Social Security or Medicare) is three times the cost of all military wars in U.S. history since the American Revolution. here…

Talk about bang for your buck NOT. CONyers reminds me of the little kid from the Dickens tale who wants ‘more’ – sort of like yassirarafat (among lots of others)did – no matter what they get they ALWAYS want ‘more’.
The apology should be from the Democratic Party to American blacks, and not from America as a whole.
As I am wont to point out, I believe that *I* am owed reparations. My grandfather’s grandfather was one of nine sons, seven of whom served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Wither the likes of John Conyers, and John Lewis, and Maxine Waters, were it not for their sacrifice?
Hopefully at some point -SOON – the American taxpaying public will come to the obvious conclusion that we are keeping pets that we can’t afford to feed.
African-Americans are still slaves in the 21st century. Slaves of the Democrats who keep their “servants” in low-esteem, welfare decency to capture their votes. A small percentage of the democrat “slaves” have managed to shed their shackles and have become self-reliant, well educated citizens. I give as some examples: Doctor Ben Carson and Lt. Col. Allen West. Sadly, the majority suffer from “instant-gratification and an aversion to the title “Uncle Tom” to escape from their Liberal Democrat slave masters.
I think that 660,000 dead white Christian men who fell to end slavery in the Civil War is reparations enough. If being free is not its own reward, leave.

Sue the Confederacy. And all living descendants of slaves should pay reparations to the families of the Union Civil War soldiers who were killed or injured freeing those ancestors from slavery.
the confederacy did not ask to be invaded. they wanted to be left alone. Lincoln destroyed freedom in America.
here’s reparations. the u.s. government should have taken every slave after the war of northern aggression and sent them all back to Africa. they’d all be suing today to get back in.
