It Begins
Number one, I don’t give a shit about a panda cub.
Number two, MSN is jumping on the main stream liberal media bandwagon with this pathetic attempt at tugging on peoples heart strings. Much like the sequester cuts shutting down the Blue Angels, this administration will shutdown anything that the public deems popular, and blames it on the shutdown. It hasn’t stopped Dear Leader from any of his perpetual campaigning, or globe trotting to wherever when he should stay in Washington and at least act presidential.
The National Zoo’s beloved panda cam and all other live animal cameras from the zoo have gone dark with the government shutdown.
The zoo itself will be closed to visitors starting Tuesday. A zoo spokeswoman says the live animal cameras went offline Tuesday morning and furloughed staff will be allowed to conduct an orderly shutdown. Officials say the shutdown won’t affect care of the animals.
The zoo tweeted Monday that “The cams (incl. the panda cams) require federal resources, especially staff, to run. They have not been deemed essential …”
We have a zoo in my city that is not funded by the government. Why do we have a National Zoo, that I am sure charges a fee for entrance, yet it’s employees are paid with tax dollars?
