  1. Oh Lord, don’t get me started on this.

    When I first started teaching almost all of my time was spent on teaching and research.

    Today I spend about 1/3 of my time dealing with administrators and the nonsensical crap they spew out in a pathetic attempt to justify their existence.

    That means the time I spend preparing for class, lecturing, grading, and working with students has been reduced from 50% to around 30%, and the time I spend working on research projects has likewise decreased.

    So who suffers because of this?

    That’s right – the students, who are the reason we’re all here in the first place.

    And it’s primarily due to increased government involvement, regulations, and meddling in what used to be the best public school system in the world.

    Bah! I need another beer…

    1. Tim – Didn’t mean to bring you down but I knew you would understand the frustration. I consider this graph to be a microcosim of the Federal Government.

      TJ – 50/50 sounds about right.
