Why Don’t We Know?
If our borders are more secure than ever before, why don’t we know who is here? Homeland Security is just another federal boondoggle and waste. How did they help Boston? This department did not exist 12 years ago.
Much like Pelosi’s famous words “we need to pass Obamacare to know what’s in it”, apparently we need to pass amnesty to find out who is here.
It is stunning these people are in charge.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) argued Tuesday that immigration reform would enhance the nation’s security as he sought to prevent concerns raised by the Boston bombings from derailing the bipartisan legislation.
“Under the status quo, we do not know who is here and might be intending to do us harm,” Reid wrote in a letter to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).
“The bipartisan immigration reform proposal introduced last week would enable us to identify and perform criminal background and national security checks on immigrants who are here unlawfully,” he wrote.
Total Bullshit!! Give them amnesty, there are another 20 million ready to come here illegally. Politicians are idiots.

It’s not just that the borders are a sieve, it’s also that we don’t do a good job of keeping track of those who enter legally but overstay their welcome.
The whole damn system needs to be fixed. First, secure the borders. Then reform the mess so that folks who want to be here, who have good character, and who have skills that we can use, are admitted with minimal problems.
And so that people who have nothing to contribute, and who will do nothing to improve our country, are barred from entry, and ejected if they do infiltrate and are then discovered.
Tim – I agree completely, but I also think that Democrats would love a blanket amnesty to ensure blue voting for decades. The progressives have figured out that if you throw the poor a few bones, they will vote eyes closed democrat. Republicans are sliding down the same slippery slope to garner some of that same voting block. Problem is, we can’t sustain the costs associated with the new 12 million people that I assume half would go on the welfare roles, not to mention obamacare.
We need a new party that would not be handcuffed by the politics of appeasment. Then you would have some real reform.
