Fuck them motherfuckers. I been smoking for 51 years.
Ain’t no point in stopping now.
I also agree with MminAR, letting the Wimmins vote sealed our doom.
Yup , Can’t argue that one . But they didn’t make us stop smoking .
They just realized they could tax the hell out of it , and usher in another form of “control” .
Don’t get me started on seat belts , bicycle helmets . . . 1 gallon gas cans ? . . .
I think one of the worst moments in American history was when Eisenhower sent Airborne troops to Little Rock, AR in 1957 and had them put bayonets on the ends of their rifles and forced a state and local school system to abide by an unconstitutional federal law.
Thomas Jefferson’s definition of Liberty included the idea that the limits of liberty are defined by the point where my liberty begins to infringe on other people’s liberty.
So I don’t much care what anyone does at home, alone. Even if it kills them (but not their family or their neighbors.) But our desire for liberty doesn’t give us the right to harm other assholes. Not even secondhand.
Fuck the nanny staters. But also fuck all of the people who lack basic personal responsibility, which gives the nanny staters their excuse to meddle in our affairs. (They’ll try anyway but don’t give cover to the enemy.)
As for the other thing, the 19th harmed women even more than it harmed the rest of society.

That’s hyperbole. We were flying down hill by the time smokers were ostracized.
The slide started when women got the vote.

It destroyed both black and white school children. I agree, one of the worst moments in American history. Its legacy lives on today.
Even though I have been steeped in politics since I was a kid, I told my husband their big mistake was letting women vote and I truly believe it.
Neal Boortz (PBUH) often said that women would vote for security issues every time over the best and most practical ones.
