Comp Cam = Competition Cams It is a specific company. They make some really nice valve train components.
A roller cam allows you to have an aggressive ramp on your cam, without having to dramatically increase the duration. This way those 461 heads can breath good and still have a semi-civilized idle.
Nice to see an engine properly done.
Matthew – Obviously you are an engine guy, I’m not. I told my engine builder what I wanted as far as performance and what I was going to be using the car for, (driving on summer days to the golf course). He told me what he put in, rattled off numbers about the cam, and that was it, I gave him money and he gave me back my engine. All the specifics are on my build sheet for the shop that will be changing out the manifold and carb and installing the engine.
Rick – The brackets are built into the manifold for alternator, also, my engine builder suggested that I don’t bother with them, it’s a convertible so you don’t need the noise. I agreed with him.

Wow!
Looks like the original motor.
Original-type manifolds and heads.

Dished or flat tops under em?
Very nice!
Crispin – Yup, matching numbers original 350, comp cam and lifters, flat pistions.
Looks excellent, did you go with the original cam profile or an update?
Grog – Updated with comp cam and roller lifters.

What’s the lift & duration for a “comp cam”?
