Not into basketball so his career had no impact on my life. His daughter her life was cut short and that is what is a shame. All pro sports have no impact on my life I have to go to work even if a team wins,loses,or draws.
Yes he was a sports star, yes he was accused of rape and yes he wasn’t well educated, but when asked about always giving his best at games he commented that tickets were pricey and lots of fathers saved to be able to afford taking a son to a game. He said he played hard every game because owed to those fathers and sons to ensure they saw him at his best and got their moneys worth.
I think compared to other sports stars who believe they are owed something by the fans his attitude was something to apploud.

He started his basketball career just as I was getting fed up with the NBA BS so I can’t comment on his run but from all accounts he was a true great.
He had some rough patches to say the least but getting killed with your 13 year old daughter is the shits.
