Don’t get me started. I’ve been sitting here wracking my brain trying to come up with ‘essential’ government services. So far I’ve got the military, border security (such as it is), and federal prisons (where most of our politicians belong). Other than that it’s pretty much just wealth transference and ponzi schemes.
