Camaro Update

Camaro Update

Dave from the comments was wondering about the ’67 Camaro, well I am learning a lot about patience…..not a fan.

We pulled the motor in September, had it rebuilt, took it into the shop in December, just took first drive with new motor last Thursday. Its headed to the muffler shop then to paint, interior and soft top last items. I’m hoping to be completed by early June but if the last 6 months are any indication….I may have to be patient….ughh.

New: disc brakes, intake, carb, Mallory electronic ignition, vintage air conditioning, front suspension and steering, shocks, rear springs, complete new wiring, and engine rebuilt (of course).  Transmission removed and rebuilt, same with rear end, stainless steel fuel line and brake lines. Probably a bunch of stuff I forgot but she’ll be basically new when she’s done. All original and matching numbers.

  1. Yeah Jeff,
Glad to see progress! let me know what you think of the wilwood breaks. i’ve got to do some uprades on my 73z.

  2. Patience will be well worth it when your done with this project.
Look’in great, what color will you paint it and the interior will be what color as well, looking forward to see finished project.

  3. Just one question, with all the upgrades in the motor overhaul why did you not go with headers! Other than that looking good!!! grayman

  4. Jeff. If you have to put a new top on, go with the Mercedes convertible material. I just had it put on my 62. It does not show the wrinkles like the original vinyl material and will last ten years longer. It looks great and I can’t recommend it enough.
