Dogs no matter what age will protect its owner. I have always adopted my animals and currently I have a dog that will in all sincerity not racist will back me into the front door (when outside) whenever a person who is Indian (India), Muslim, or from any foreign nation from Europe. He will not move but will bark, hair raised until they walk past, he will not let me move, same when other animals are walking by. He is my shadow & so is my other dog, she was abused but her nature is sweet and gentle and she too follows me everywhere.
Best dog I ever had died in my arms last Christmas, a German Shepherd named Crockett. Always wary of anyone he didn’t know coming anywhere near me, would stand up and glare and if they continued to approach, you’d hear a very low growling begin. No one ever took him further then that.
