Turtles – UPDATED

Turtles – UPDATED

Apparently I hit a nerve with a regular visitor about this particular post. I usually wouldn’t pull a post but since the content (which I found humorous) was a hoax, I have decided to remove it in the hopes of keeping a loyal reader versus cheap content.

  1. Dear Sir:

To answer your question, no, no, no, and ahh….no. The USPS also uses turtles for our priority delivery. Unlike yours however, ours are treated with respect. First, our turtles are union members. Therefore, they are only required to work three hours a day. This workday includes an 1 1/2 hour lunch, plus two 30 minute breaks (per our union contract). Secondly, the union requires we observe the 325 national holidays (276 are paid). Consider yourself lucky, normal delivery time to the location you requested is 9 1/2 days (228 hours).

    Sincerely,

    PostMaster General

  2. This is from 2015 and yet….it is a hoax.
Even 70 pound package (usps limit) and the oddest size usps will take, no damn way would it come to 110 bucks!
If this guy was real, and he is not, he could have had any number of hot shot services doing in the same day for that kind of money.
So, I called it way back when a hoax, and today I still call it a hoax.

    1. Joe- Lighten up, regardless it’s funny as hell. The postal service has a long list of failures never mentioned, one joke won’t hurt them. But I will remove my snarky gov comment.

      1. PIcking on the USPS is great for so many bloggers and journalists.
Because it is too hard to go and check other companies and all their screw ups!
Remember, the USPS takes care of UPS because UPS can not do the job right.
I do not enjoy people trying to make the USPS always look bad.
I retired from the USPS as a Postmaster and yes, mail here and there did not get delivered on time.
But consider the AMOUNT of MAIL and PACKAGES the USPS deals with DAILY!
Oh, well, i will ignore your hate the USPS posts from now on….

        1. Joe – I can understand your irritation at someone poking fun at the postal service, if I was retired from a company I was proud of I would be irritated too. Sorry to hear you won’t be checking in on my little blog, you will be missed.

          1. There are a few people on the internet I would ever call real gentlemen!
And you sir. are now one of the few!
Now go have a nice bit of scotch.
            Joe
