Romney Needs To Stand His Ground On Immigration

Romney Needs To Stand His Ground On Immigration

The Mexican drug cartels are out of control, the US Border Patrol is a token force that can’t possibly police the border, (an expensive attempt to pacify the public), and Latino’s are ready to vote for Obama because they want some sort of amnesty.

Romney has come out swinging on the immigration problem and the 70% approval for Obama over Romney bears out the fact that this voting block will go democratic.
So be it!
Politicians bow to the pressure of minority groups knowing the votes are all important for any election cycle. Romney needs to stand up to Hispanics and take his chances with which way they decide to vote. Right now the unemployment rate of mexican minorities is running 5% higher than average unemployment numbers, (whatever that is), and their plight has certainly not gotten better under Obama. So if there is no work, why stay here? Well for the most part they will turn to crime. Got to make their money somehow.

Now can you see the bigger picture? If Romney panders to the Latino voters, they will be empowered to gain even more control. They will feel as though the election process in the United States can be controlled at their whim. Obama has launched his “Latino’s for Obama” campaign and is doing exactly what this bloc of voters want’s, kiss our ass and work on liberal legislation that pushes us closer to amnesty and you have our vote. ROMNEY MUST NOT HELP THEIR CAUSE!

If Romney sticks to his guns and begins campaigning for immigration reform that calls for deportation and tough fines for employers that hire them, he dampens the hopes of future illegals, and some will actually self deport, believe it or not. The employers that hire them is the problem.
No Worky, No Money, No Stay…ey.

The criminal element from Mexico is one of the most brutal and viscious groups of people on the planet, right behind the religion of peace. If Romney stands firm and any mexicans, who are here  illegaly and have been arrested, are immediately deported, no questions asked. No holding for identification other than finger printing and standing in line for a bus or plane flight to Mexico. And the expense for this deportation effort should be paid for by the South American governments that can’t make their own countries desirable enough for it’s populace to stay.

If you think that this is a problem that does not effect you personally or is really something that won’t effect us until sometime in the future you are dead wrong.

MEXICO CITY — Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman purportedly has come gunning for the vicious Zetas gang on the South Texas border, leaving 14 of their butchered bodies and a message vowing to rid Nuevo Laredo of its criminal scourge.

“We have begun to clear Nuevo Laredo of Zetas because we want a free city and so you can live in peace,” proclaims a banner, under which were posed the bodies, as well as the gunmen who presumably work for Guzman.

“We are narcotics traffickers and we don’t mess with honest working or business people.”

Guzman’s first attempt to seize Nuevo Laredo, in 2005, sparked a war with the Zetas and the Gulf Cartel, which employed the gang at the time.

The battles, which included rocket attacks and massacres, killed more than 300 that year and gave birth to the increased violence still tormenting the borderlands and Mexico’s interior.

  1. I have a slightly different perspective on the immigration issue. I live in Central Texas and work in a city on the Texas-Mexico border. I’ve spent most of my life in Central and South Texas – regions with large numbers of Mexicans. Most of them come here to improve life for them and their families. I’d do the same thing if I lived in some third-world failed country. Most of them are hard-working folks who share many of the same values we do, in terms of family, religion, and social norms. They’re the kind of people I’d like to see this country have more of. They come here to work, not to get a handout.

I am, of course, speaking in generalities. As a whole Hispanics certainly have their share of leeches and criminals, just like all ethnic groups. But I don’t think the entitlement mentality has become as embedded in them as it has in other groups, because they haven’t had several generations become accustomed to government handouts in place of working.

So while I agree with you as far as combating the problem of illegal immigration, I would also suggest that we should adopt a more reasonable approach to legal immigration. Many of the illegals are so because of the difficulty of coming here legally.

As for arguments about immigrants taking jobs away from American citizens, well, look around at who’s doing the hard, dirty jobs – lawn care, construction, maintenance, etc. – especially farming (here and here). It’s not the same folks you see waiting for their unemployment and welfare checks, that’s for damn sure.

    1. I see your point of view, my problem is the illegals or even legals who are not assimilating to being US citizens. I am from Utah and we have a HUGE population of illegals here, granted not as many as south Texas but quite a large number. I have worked with quite a few and as you stated they are willing and able to work, I agree. I was waiting for a crossing guard at an elementery school as students were filing out after class and was amazed at the number of latino children, 80% or higher in that particular school. Are the parents working or paying taxes to help pay for their education? Maybe, I don’t know.
The drug problem in this community is astronomical and the majority of drug busts are latino, the gangs are latino and polynesian. We don’t have a very large black population here at all. So I guess my problem is that mexicans seem to pop up in bad ways here and it seems to get the natives restless, including myself. And I would not mind seeing a few of the bad apples removed from the area with a strong immigration policy.
I agree with you that non-minority kids are not willing to get their hands dirty like when I was growing up, I raised my kids wanting them to get a higher education and not have to do fast food or manual labor like I did. So yes we do need to have a certain labor force willing to do the dirty work, there are just so damn many of them I feel like we are being taken over…ya know.

  2. I didn’t realize that Utah had such an illegal/gang problem. Kind of surprising.

It seems to be regional. I know that parts of California are inundated with gangs, as are some Texas cities (most notably Houston and Dallas). But other parts of CA and TX seem to attract the law-abiding types.

Agreed that the underlying issue is one of assimilation. I’m basically a second-generation American. My father is the only member of his family that was born here. The rest were born in Poland (and yes, I love Polish jokes – we’re not as overly sensitive as some other ethnic d-bags).

As far as being taken over goes, that was also a concern with the wave of Irish and Italian immigrants way back when. Not saying it’s not a valid issue. Some of my friends compare the influx of Mexicans to the spread of fire ants – a seemingly unstoppable wave of pests moving northward. But IMO they will become diluted over time. Look at what’s happened with blacks. We’re seeing more and more interracial marriages (see Obama, Barack).

I’m much more concerned about the growing number of muslim immigrants. Detroit and the surrounding areas are basically a suburb of Baghdad. And that’s not the only place where ‘they’ are taking over. I’ll take Mexicans over muslims any day.

    Just my $.02 worth…

    1. I will take mexicans over muslimes any day myself, but they don’t affect you, yet. That being said, I don’t have a solid argument on your position, I know only one sha baab and he owns a gas station in our county.
But this world has changed since your folks came over…for better or worse it has became a different world and I am just worried about where we are headed. No Polish jokes here.

  3. I jotted down various issues concerning Romney. While he states in Public that he is against the Dream Act…at the same time of that announcement, he was running an Ad in Spanish FOR the Dream Act.

He is referred to as Decent? Would you call anyone decent who lies about the Dream Act just to get votes?
Yes, he states he is AGAINST the Dream Act while running an Ad in Spanish:

As Romney states that a Marriage is between a many and a woman — He approves Gays Adopting Children (5/11/12)
    Romney also states he would have voted for the NDAA;
    Romney states “…only talk about re-distribution of wealth behind closed doors”;
Romney states he is like Obama. George Soros and WH states Romney is like Obama.
Romney committed a Federal Crime through wire fraud by wiring Millions of his $$ to the Cayman Islands as well as accepting foreign $$ for campaigns.

Romney states (I believe it was 2008) that he thought we needed Healthcare like Hezabola; and he had RomneyCARE
Romney made the same mistake Cain did by stating, “Islam not inherently violent.”
While Mormons teach against Alcohol, drugs, prostitution and gambling…they own a casino in Las Vegas
Admits his only connection to GOP is he is a registered Repubican.
