Beautiful Story

Beautiful Story

I am sure many of you may have seen this before but it is a first for me…thought I would share.

Not many people get a picture of this proud bird
snuggled up next to them!

Freedom and I have been together 11 years this summer. She came in as a baby in 1998 with two broken wings. Her left wing doesn’t open all the way even after surgery,it was broken in 4 places.
She’s my baby.

When Freedom came in she could not standand both wings were broken. She was emaciated and covered in lice. We made the decision to give her a chance at life, so I took her to the vet’s office. From then on, I was always around her. We had her in a huge dog carrier with the top off, and it was loaded up with shredded newspaper for her to lay in. I used to sit and talk to her, urging her to live, to fight; and she would lay there looking at me with those big brown eyes. We also had to tube feed her for weeks.

This went on for 4-6 weeks, and by then she still couldn’t stand. It got to the point where the decision was made to euthanize her if she couldn’t stand in a week. You know you don’t want to cross that line between torture and rehab, and it looked like death was
winning. She was going to be put down that Friday, and I was supposed to come in
on that Thursday afternoon. I didn’t want to go to the center that Thursday, because I couldn’t bear the thought of her being euthanized; but I went anyway, and when I walked in everyone was grinning from ear to ear. I went immediately back to her cage; and there she was, standing on her own, a big beautiful eagle. She was ready to live. I was
just about in tears by then. That was a very good day.

We knew she could never fly, so the director asked me to glove train her.
I got her used to the glove, and then to jesses, and we started doing education programs for schools in western Washington . We wound up in the newspapers, radio (believe it or not) and some TV. Miracle Pets even did a show about us.

In the spring of 2000, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I had stage 3, which is not good (one major organ plus everywhere), so I wound up doing 8 months of chemo. Lost the hair – the whole bit. I missed a lot of work. When I felt good enough, I would go to Sarvey and take Freedom out for walks. Freedom would also come to me in my dreams and help me fight the cancer. This happened time and time again.

Fast forward to November 2000

the day after Thanksgiving, I went in for my last checkup. I was told that if the cancer was not all gone after 8 rounds of chemo, then my last option was a stem cell transplant. Anyway, they did the tests; and I had to come back Monday for the results. I went in Monday, and I was told that all the cancer was gone.

So the first thing I did was get up to Sarvey and take the big girl out for a walk. It was misty and cold. I went to her flight and jessed her up, and we went out front to the top of the hill. I hadn’t said a word to Freedom, but somehow she knew. She looked at me
and wrapped both her wings around me to where I could feel them pressing in on my back (I was engulfed in eagle wings), and she touched my nose with her beak and stared into my eyes, and we just stood there like that for I don’t know how long . That was a
magic moment. We have been soul mates ever since she came in. This is a very special bird.

On a side note: I have had people who were sick come up to us when we are out, and
Freedom has some kind of hold on them. I once had a guy who was terminal come up to us and I let him hold her. His knees just about buckled and he swore he could feel her power course through his body. I have so many stories like that..

I never forget the honor I have of being so close to such a magnificent spirit as Freedom. Hope you enjoyed this!

GSA Finds Potential Parking Structure For Recalled Chevy Volts

GSA Finds Potential Parking Structure For Recalled Chevy Volts

You just can’t make this shit up.  Ok I did, but it would not surprise me.
Department of Energy forces taxpayer investment in new building, investment fails… government takes over building, government sales building back to ….government, GSA Pacific Rim Regional Director Jeff Neely goes on vacation. Obama perps are more wealthy than before, taxpayers lose billions.
A nod to Zip over at Weasel Zippers for pics and video.

Romney Needs To Stand His Ground On Immigration

Romney Needs To Stand His Ground On Immigration

The Mexican drug cartels are out of control, the US Border Patrol is a token force that can’t possibly police the border, (an expensive attempt to pacify the public), and Latino’s are ready to vote for Obama because they want some sort of amnesty.

Romney has come out swinging on the immigration problem and the 70% approval for Obama over Romney bears out the fact that this voting block will go democratic.
So be it!
Politicians bow to the pressure of minority groups knowing the votes are all important for any election cycle. Romney needs to stand up to Hispanics and take his chances with which way they decide to vote. Right now the unemployment rate of mexican minorities is running 5% higher than average unemployment numbers, (whatever that is), and their plight has certainly not gotten better under Obama. So if there is no work, why stay here? Well for the most part they will turn to crime. Got to make their money somehow.

Now can you see the bigger picture? If Romney panders to the Latino voters, they will be empowered to gain even more control. They will feel as though the election process in the United States can be controlled at their whim. Obama has launched his “Latino’s for Obama” campaign and is doing exactly what this bloc of voters want’s, kiss our ass and work on liberal legislation that pushes us closer to amnesty and you have our vote. ROMNEY MUST NOT HELP THEIR CAUSE!

If Romney sticks to his guns and begins campaigning for immigration reform that calls for deportation and tough fines for employers that hire them, he dampens the hopes of future illegals, and some will actually self deport, believe it or not. The employers that hire them is the problem.
No Worky, No Money, No Stay…ey.

The criminal element from Mexico is one of the most brutal and viscious groups of people on the planet, right behind the religion of peace. If Romney stands firm and any mexicans, who are here  illegaly and have been arrested, are immediately deported, no questions asked. No holding for identification other than finger printing and standing in line for a bus or plane flight to Mexico. And the expense for this deportation effort should be paid for by the South American governments that can’t make their own countries desirable enough for it’s populace to stay.

If you think that this is a problem that does not effect you personally or is really something that won’t effect us until sometime in the future you are dead wrong.

MEXICO CITY — Drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman purportedly has come gunning for the vicious Zetas gang on the South Texas border, leaving 14 of their butchered bodies and a message vowing to rid Nuevo Laredo of its criminal scourge.

“We have begun to clear Nuevo Laredo of Zetas because we want a free city and so you can live in peace,” proclaims a banner, under which were posed the bodies, as well as the gunmen who presumably work for Guzman.

“We are narcotics traffickers and we don’t mess with honest working or business people.”

Guzman’s first attempt to seize Nuevo Laredo, in 2005, sparked a war with the Zetas and the Gulf Cartel, which employed the gang at the time.

The battles, which included rocket attacks and massacres, killed more than 300 that year and gave birth to the increased violence still tormenting the borderlands and Mexico’s interior.

The Party Continues

The Party Continues

So you think the GSA gets to have all the fun?

District AG to sue former city workers for fraudulent jobless benefits
The District’s attorney general said Wednesday that he will sue former city employees who collected unemployment benefits while working.

Attorney General Irvin B. Nathan said his office will begin filing civil suits “in the next few weeks” to recover the city’s money. District officials have estimated that the city had paid as much as $800,000 in jobless benefits to working city employees since 2009.

This shit does not stop, it will go on and on and on. You can’t stop it. We are all boned.

If  Washington does not get a handle on this, the Revolution will begin, and it will not be pretty.

GSA, Secret Service, Dept. Energy Loans

GSA, Secret Service, Dept. Energy Loans

I don’t understand how any liberal big government  loon can say that “all is well” when you keep seeing this kind of flagrant abuse. From what I understand all officials from the GSA are on paid leave, and the chances of them being fired is slim to none unless charged with a crime. Pensions will also be intact.

Next is a different viewpoint that I found interesting, he talks about how Mr. Neely may not have even thought that this was wrong, because after 34 yeasr of service, it was just natural to abuse taxpayers money this way….damn sad.

“A few facts for perspective on what I’m about to say. First, Mr. Neely is a career civil servant, meaning that while he was initially appointed to his job by an Administration prior to the Barack Obama Administration. He has worked for the federal government for 34 years. I emphasize his tenure because we need to understand he has spent almost, if not all, of his professional career working for the federal government – or, more importantly, the taxpayers. He has served under Democrats and Republicans.

Second, Mr. Neely works in a regional office of the GSA, on the West Coast, far, far from Washington, DC. I emphasize this because we need to understand the complexity and size of this nation geographically and, as we’ll see shortly, governmentally. Mr. Neely works generally autonomously, probably with little oversight, and (even though I haven’t seen his personnel records or reports thereon) with great deference from his coworkers because of his longevity and obvious ability to navigate and survive the politics of the GSA and numerous Presidential administrations.

During my short tenure in Washington I came to one horrific understanding: most of Washington considers taxpayer money nothing more than monopoly money. Need more for your program? Find a sponsor on the Hill and viola! you’ve got your money. Granted not everyone has this attitude and many members of Congress and many civil servants will vigorously become penny pinchers, watching every one of our nickels and dimes. But unfortunately the great majority think we can just spend and spend and spend and spend.

Mr. Neely is a victim and a perpetrator of that attitude. He succumbs to the overseers who want him to spend money; and, he justifies his existence by expanding and growing the programs he oversees. Mr. Neely, a civil servant with all the legal protections of a protected class, works without much fear of dismissal. He works 3,000 miles from most of his political superiors ensconced in Washington, DC. Mr. Neely, with a bank of historical knowledge in his head, is essential for the political class as he understands the programs and mission of GSA and can manipulate the political appointees to his favor.
