Absolutely correct.
The 21st century “little darlings” (about 17 to 20) cringe when I tell them all I had to entertain me back on the 1950’s was a baseball, well-worn mitt, the open sky and lots of pals to share them with………..in person on a vacant lot and not by texting from a cosy bedroom over a cellphone!
Toejam – That’s right. I was never inside, winter or summer, always found things to do or read a book. That would shock the system of most kids these days, let alone the mental dumbing down of the urchins.
