America On Life Support

America On Life Support

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior:
“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a dictatorship.”
“The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years.

During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage.”
The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012 – The Death of a Nation
It doesn’t hurt to read this several times. Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19      McCain: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000     McCain: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million        McCain: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2       McCain: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: “In aggregate, the map of the territory McCain won was
mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low-income
tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…”

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
“complacency and apathy” phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy,
with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached
the “governmental dependency” phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal
invaders called illegal’s – and they vote – then we can say goodbye to the
USA in fewer than five years.

Obama Admin Blocks Texas Voter ID Laws…Says It Descriminates Aginst Hispanics

Obama Admin Blocks Texas Voter ID Laws…Says It Descriminates Aginst Hispanics

So the Department of Justice has blocked Texas voter ID laws. What happened to states being able to run their own state? The problem is Eric Holder is Obama’s bitch, hispanics can’t vote without showing proof of identification therefore they would not be able to vote for Obama, and that my friends is unacceptable to the Obama administration. So you send your little ankle biter Holder in to stop all voter ID laws. It is the most transparent attempt by the Obama camp to make sure he gets the votes of people who may or may not be legal to vote in this country, or people who are living off the government and would like for that to continue.

I have to show ID for damn near everything. That is what responsible Americans do. To be legal to drive you need a driver’s license, you need to show said license when stopped by police, using a credit card, renting a car, getting a plane ticket, a passport, or applying for a job. That is the few that come to mind, I am sure there are many more. So how come that small, easy to get, piece of plastic identification is so hard for some to get? Maybe they are not the people we want voting.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department’s civil rights division has objected to the new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas, saying many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification.

The department says the state has failed to show that the newly enacted law has neither a discriminatory purpose nor effect.

In a letter to Texas officials, the Justice Department says Hispanic voters in Texas are as much as 120 percent more likely than non-Hispanic voters to lack a driver’s license or personal state-issued photo ID.

No shit Sherlock. Emphasis mine.

I Am Back!

I Am Back!

Sorry for the long break. The boys wedding and golf has kept me away for the weekend. I guess the big day wore me out more than I thought. But after a fabulous day on the golf course yesterday and a good nights sleep I am invigorated and ready to get blogging. I will getting to emails and my usual blog runs for the next hour or so and then be posting again.

Thoughts on the day would be the Presidential race, Afghan violence, Israel missile attacks, and basic left-wing lunacy. Back in a few.

Oh by the way, comment on the weekly Frazetta images. He was the best.

Busy Weekend

Busy Weekend

I will not be posting much until Sunday. My boy is getting married Saturday and that will take most of my day. As for today, well it is going to be 60 degrees outside and I will be on the links at noon. Outstanding!

How Can They Know?

How Can They Know?

It is time for me to vent, and considering this is a new blog and has zero followers, I am just making myself feel better. So as I look at 50 and take stock of where I am at I could not be more bummed. Even though I own a home, (well the bank and I), and have a wonderful loving wife and great kids, I am bummed our life as we know it may be in jeopardy.  My employer closed it’s doors because we could not compete in this economy. Not that work is not out there, it is just going so cheap you might as well shut down rather than take the loss. So I am laid off again and the prospects are not good. I am not a college grad but I have marketable skills that would be valuable to many companies, but like I said, the jobs that could pay my salary are few and far between. So here I am, and I don’t see light at the end of tunnel, and I sure as hell don’t see our government making my world any better. I don’t want a handout, I want a decent paying job. How can our leaders know how I feel?

How can the current administration, and congressional leadership know how I feel? How can the silverspooned members of congress have a clue? Most of the congressional leaders are millionaires, the average federal employee pay is 3 to 1 that of the private sector. These are the people and their ilk that are making decisions that determine our fate. 535 people that we have sent to Washington whose average incomes are one million per year, or more, decide what is best for the nation. How can they relate?  How can they even vaguely understand a family making under $50,000 per year and the difficulties they endure every day. I can’t understand how a family at the poverty level survives. I can’t understand how a family living on food stamps and housing assistance lives. I just can’t relate to that. So how can millionaires understand me or my plight? I have worked in the construction and technology industries for thirty years, during that time I was too busy raising my family and trying to get by that I did not focus on politics, I assumed they were doing their job. I started noticing when a friend married and purchased his new home which cost him 50% more than the one I bought a few years before him, and it was the same home. That got my attention.

In 1974 may parents purchased their final home, it was a small rambler that cost them $36,000 dollars. In 1990 I bought a brand new house at a cost of $56,000, that is a 35% increase over 16 years. In 2010 I bought a used townhouse for $180,000 which I assumed was a great buy because in 2008 we looked at the same model and it was selling for $260,000. So, my last home cost me $124,000 more than my 1990 home, and that was at a reduced price. So in 20 years the price increased 75%, that is unsustainable, as was proven when the housing bubble burst. My pay increased during that same period about 35%, before I was laid off. So how am I supposed to deal with the disparity? Theoretically the equity in my first home should make up the difference, unfortunately a nasty divorce took my first home, so I had to start from scratch.

I now own a home whose price has outpaced my increase in pay by 40%, this was not a problem because I made enough money to make the payments. But unemployment certainly does not cover my responsibilities and the jobs that are available in the REAL world pay about the same as my 1990 income. WTF! If people were working employers would be paying more, but now employers can pay whatever they want and somebody will take the job.

Our 535 leaders in congress and 5 different administrations since 1980 have screwed this country so bad that, here I am, the working stiff who only wanted to raise a family, live comfortably, and retire at 65. That is 45 years of working, paying taxes and doing my part as an American. What have they done? What have they accomplished? They did not create Microsoft or Apple, but they managed to take the out manufacturing industry, we are still beholding to foreign oil. In 30 years they have not taken advantage of one of the most prosperous eras in our countries history and balanced the budget, or got our deficit under control, or keep us safe from terrorist attacks. From what I can see they have destroyed the very fabric of America and they want more, and they are all to blame, both parties and every administration.

I don’t think we can afford anymore government. Something needs to change and I mean drastically. I just want to make a decent salary and hold on until retirement. I don’t need much nor do I ask much, I am an average American, something our leaders will never be able to understand. The founding fathers of this great country would be ashamed of them, I know I am.

Priceless…..

Priceless…..

One thing is certain, she is a fame-hungry media whore.

My Case For Romney

My Case For Romney

I have been a Romney guy since his run in 2008. I know many of you see him as an out of touch robot that speaks in canned statements, (which he does), but can you really blame the guy. All it takes is one slip and his GOP rivals and the MSM will attack. So of course many of his responses seem well rehearsed and bullet point lines. But let’s look at a few things that the other candidates do or don’t do that compares to Romney.

1. How can you run for POTUS and not be on the ballots in your home state as Santorum and Gengrich have allowed to happen. Who would you rather have as President,  an organized man and a campaign that does its job, or someone who is not organized enough to allow your name not to be on the ballot in any state? What does that say about how they would run the country?

2. Would you want a President that at any moment could say or do something that would embarrass the United States, or someone who makes sure of what he says and has researched whatever topic may be brought up? I am not talking about political correctness, I mean stuff like stating a speech by JFK wanted to make him “throw up”, or building a space camp on the moon….ya know whadda I mean?

3. How about morals and integrity? Romney has been vetted, twice, and nothing has come up that would lead anyone to question his morals or integrity, I guess you could say the same thing about Santorum, other than his voting record. Newt’s infidelities have been well documented and there is no need for discussion here. But his time in D.C. has been filled with character issues and un-ethical behavior. What more could come up?

4. This is the biggie. Do you want the same old Washington hustle that Newt, Rick, and Ron represent, or do you want a savvy business man who knows how to fix a spreadsheet that the others can’t even read?

Maybe this will help:

When your daughter is lost in Manhattan, overdosed on ecstasy, where do you turn? While the NYPD and other run-of-the-mill solutions are probably a safe first choice, I suggest another option – Mitt Romney. Sure, Mitt Romney doesn’t wield an M9 or wear a sleek uniform, as far as I know, but he has proven himself again and again at handling crisis situations. Perhaps by the end of this column, you’ll be nominating him to handle our country’s current crisis situation.

According to NewsMax Magazine, a bastion of respected journalism, Romney handled such a crisis in 1996 when the 14-year-old daughter of his business partner went missing in New York City. Romney sprang into action assembling a crack team of more than 20 of his employees and friends from Bain Capital, his multibillion dollar venture firm, to find the girl. While the girl was perhaps saved only hours from death thanks to Romney’s quick thinking and vast resources, what’s more impressive is that this story is a concentrated example of the types of wonders that Romney has been working throughout his life.

He may not be the media darling that Obama is, but Romney leads with a type of modest confidence that has been lacking from the White House for many years.

Romney’s efforts in the campaign could be fruitful for America. Even if he isn’t the perfect choice for conservatives or isn’t progressive enough for moderates, for Republicans, Romney brings with him the cure to Obama – practical experience.

Pay Back The Obama Way….

Pay Back The Obama Way….

Nobody can say that Obama does not pay back his peeps, It seems every time you turn around he is giving friend, fundraiser, or campaign bundler a sweet spot in his administration. Unfortunately shows a lack of basic moral  and ethical understanding. See the latest Obambam appointee.

In a scary development, a major Obama fundraiser who defended a convicted al Qaeda terrorist will become the third highest ranking official at the Department of Justice (DOJ), which, ironically, is charged with defending the interests of the United States.

Northern California lawyer Tony West has been named Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division, making him the No. 3 guy at the agency. In 2009 West, who helped Obama raise tens of millions of dollars as finance co-chairman of his first presidential campaign, was appointed to help run the DOJ’s civil division which represents the government, Congress and presidential cabinet officers and handles cases dealing with significant policy issues.

In a statement announcing the promotion this week, Attorney General Eric Holder says West has served the department with “professionalism, integrity and dedication.” Holder also mentions West’s work before coming to the DOJ a few years ago, including a stint as a Special Assistant Attorney General in California and a lengthier career at a large San Francisco law firm.

Conveniently omitted in the press release is that West represented convicted al Qaeda terrorist John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence. Lindh was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 while fighting against the U.S.-backed Northern Alliance as a member of the Taliban army. He actually pleaded guilty to aiding the Taliban and carrying explosives while fighting U.S. troops in the region.

Holder also knows a thing or two about defending terrorists. After all, he was a senior partner in a prestigious Washington D.C. law firm (Covington & Burling) that represented more than a dozen Yemeni terrorists held at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. While Holder was a senior partner the firm employed a number of radical attorneys to provide the Islamic extremists with thousands of hours of free legal representation, according to a news report.

Another highlight in Holder’s resume is that he orchestrated Bill Clinton’s shameful last-minute pardons, including that of a fugitive financier and a pair of jailed domestic terrorists. In fact, shortly after the pardon scandal, Holder predicted that his public career was over. Under his leadership the DOJ has been embroiled in a number of high-profile scandals, including a gun-running operation (Fast and Furious) in which weapons were sold to Mexican drug cartels. One was later used to murder a federal agent. Judicial Watch has sued the DOJ to obtain records involving the operation.

Shocking no? Not really, seems pretty common place with this President.
Send Them Back to The Caves….

Send Them Back to The Caves….

This is beyond comprehension. They cry for arms and assistance from the West to topple the regime of Muammar Gaddafi, and the “Arab Spring” was exactly what I assumed it would be.

A bunch of animals taking over for a bunch of animals that were better organized and financed. With our help and the global community…Lybian rebels defeated Gaddafi. And what was the end game for all of the support to help the “revolution”?

See below….fucking animals.

More than 1,000 soldiers and airmen who lost their lives in the desert wars of Montgomery and Rommel are buried at the site in Eastern Libya.

Many were members of the famed 7th Armoured Division, known as the Desert Rats, who played  a crucial role in the see-saw battle for control of Libya and Egypt between 1941 and 1943.

Graves of RAF pilots were among those shattered by the thugs. It was their job to fly bombing raids – just as the RAF did last year – to assist Lieutenant General Montgomery’s Eighth Army and support commandos clearing routes for tanks.

Sickeningly, the attack, which was carried out over two days last week and appeared highly organised, was filmed by one of the men involved and posted on the internet.

As they rampage among the graves, members of the mob are heard to repeatedly say of the dead servicemen: ‘They are dogs, they are dogs.’

Senseless: A man kicks down headstones of soldiers during the rampage that was filmed and posted online

The violence was thought to be retaliation, in part, for the burning of the Koran by US soldiers in Afghanistan last month.

Footage shows the mob methodically kicking down grave after grave. Some are then smashed with hammers. ‘Destroy that cross, they are dogs,’ cries one hooded rebel.

Another voice is heard saying: ‘We begin with this one then we’ll take care of that other one. We won’t leave any left.’

A few seconds later another extremist says: ‘This tomb has a cross on it – a disbeliever.’

As they discover a Jewish grave bearing the Star of David, one of the men says: ‘Look at what it says on  it. There is even Israeli writing . . .  in Hebrew.’

And in one of the most disturbing sequences, one protester attached a ladder to the Cross of Remembrance next to the cemetery. He climbs up it and begins hacking at the memorial with a hammer. Then he shouts: ‘Watch out young people. It’s going to fall.’ The cross is then smashed off.

As far as I am concerned, get every nation out, NO MORE AIDE, and let the animals battle it out. In twenty years, we will see what has become of them.

PS: Send whomever claims allegiance too Allah back to their homeland. See them in twenty years and see how far their respective nations have evolved.
