Joseph Story wrote in his 1833 Commentaries on the Constitution:

“Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence.”

The Obama years will be forever known as the Dark Ages of US history, a time of political, cultural and economic deterioration. We have yet to see if they will lead to the fall of the American republic.

In the Obama years, the lie became not only a campaign strategy or a means to enact damaging policies, but an institution of government; the Presidency itself, a lie of monstrous proportions guarded by the complicit and the willingly ignorant. Keep Reading….

Yeah I know there is no “Glory” to this story but that’s all I kept thinking in my mind as I watched the video, the guts, glory, truck commercial. This gals faith may ruin her, and the fact she had a warm relationship with person suing her is even more amazing. Good woman. H/T Moonbattery

The irony of all of this is the failure of good intended programs make the case for smaller government.

The galling thing is that most of the state and municipal problems can be solved by the state and municipal governments doing their jobs as they used to do fifty years ago. Cities need to police the streets, put out fires, run the schools and keep the streets repaired. That’s it. States have other things like ports and highways, but there are no new challenges facing human societies that require novel solutions. But, the sociopaths in politics can’t bray about those mundane things so they launch new programs and abandon their duties.

Do your jobs, at all levels, keep your damn fingers and good intentions to your selves. If you want to save the world join the Peace Corps, other than that leave us alone.

It’s the Antoninus problem. Antoninus was the emperor who followed Hadrian. Everyone knows something about Hadrian, the guy who left the famous wall in Britain. No one knows anything about Antoninus because nothing interesting happened in his 23 year reign. There were no wars, great economic troubles or revolts. It was one of the most peaceful and prosperous times for the empire. But, no one one remembers him because nothing big happened. Striking terror into the hearts and minds of jihads everywhere is our top military experts Jen and Marie. These two are obviously smarter than everyone in the room so they will need to talk down to Americans as not to be too “nuanced” for our understanding. That being said, there are some who do not agree with the new jobs program proposed by the great minds in the Obama regime.

War is one of the few things in life we can reliably kill our way out of. The United States has had a great track record of killing our way out of wars. We killed our way out of WW1. We killed our way out of WW2. The problem began when we stopped trying to kill our way out of wars and started trying to hug our way out of wars instead. Progressive academics added war to economics, terrorism and the climate in the list of subjects they did not understand and wanted to make certain that no one else was allowed to understand. Because the solution to war is so obvious that no progressive could possibly think of it.

Bingo. Hugging our way out of war is what has us going back to Iraq.

Harf’s argument is a familiar one. There was a time when progressive reformers had convinced politicians that we couldn’t arrest, shoot, imprison or execute our way out of crime. 

When your bosses only experience is progressive reform via community organizing we shouldn’t be that surprised. Of course Obama being a closet muslim is another reason.

We couldn’t stop crime by fighting crime. Instead the root causes of crime had to be addressed. The police became social workers and criminals overran entire cities. The public demanded action and a new wave of mayors got tough on crime. While the sociologists, social workers, activists and bleeding hearts wailed that it wouldn’t work, surprisingly locking up criminals did stop them from committing crimes. Keep Reading….

Don’t get me wrong here, I hate to see America tangled up in another war, but after Obama gave away everything we did, we now have to go back. So we might as well quit pussy footin’ around.

Obama signs an executive order and within weeks or months the action is put in place, yet when four Americans are killed in Benghazi, we have congressional hearings. Benghazi hearings have been going on for over two years and will go on for the foreseeable future, nobody has been held accountable. Fast and Furious gun running scandal has outlasted Holder who will leave office as soon as he is replaced, once again nobody has been held accountable. How about the IRS targeting scandal? Nope, nada, nothing, zero has happened to the people who targeted conservative groups.

All of these scandals have held their own hearings and while they have generated some amazing sound bites, I would rather see some amazing prison terms. Screaming, yelling, walking out, denials, and lies will not bring the people back who died in Benghazi or killed by guns provided by the ATF. Whistle blowers have been fired and abused, reporters have been hacked, but not one person who participated in these scandals has had so much as a slap on the wrist.

When the President and his administration can enact working laws within weeks but can cover up lawless actions by his administration for years, (if not forever), we have an impotent government incapable of doling out justice. What good is “checks and balances” when they can be ignored.

I don’t know about you but I have had a gut full of blowhard politicians calling for justice, holding hearings, bloviating on the nightly news, and yet nothing happens. Seems like a tremendous waste of time and money. If the press refuses to investigate these matters and force the hand of the politicians, it may be time to get rid of congressional hearings and start building gallows outside the capital, seems to be the only way to get their attention.

The longer all of these scandals go on the more they are ignored and perceived as not important. Instead of impeachment or prison the perpetrators go into retirement on fat pensions and money stuffed in their pockets from crony backroom deals. And that my friends is more than criminal.

A State Department official said that the United States was likely to admit 1,000-2,000 Syrian refugees this government fiscal year and a few thousand more in Fiscal Year 2016. The official said that Syrian refugees applying for admission to the United States will “undergo additional screening specific to this population.”

The official said that the Department of Homeland Security, which had no immediate comment, had sole authority to grant refugees admission to the United States.
