The standards follow the logic that it is best to address all immigration problems this session of Congress, even if in different bills. The standards follow the Senate’s approach of promising border security and workplace enforcement (through typically meaningless “triggers”) in exchange for immediate amnesty of those here unlawfully.

Because amnesty by itself is extremely unpopular, sometimes policymakers include other, more popular measures alongside it.
For example, in 1986 Congress passed, and President Reagan signed, a “one time” amnesty of some 3 million unlawful immigrants and was promised border security and workplace enforcement. Unfortunately, the promises were not kept. Today more than 10 million unlawful immigrants reside in the United States. Instead of repeating past mistakes, a truly step-by-step process would be to ensure border and workplace laws are being enforced, period. The only real way to be sure that unlawful immigration has been stopped is to count the number of unlawful immigrants in the census.

Bloomberg is calling for immigration reform and he is doing it at the mayors US Chamber of Commerce event. The same Chamber of Commerce that is throwing campaign money at GOP establishment politicians to battle Tea Party candidates…go figure. That fact alone shows you what agenda these guys are pursuing. Don’t fall for the lies, this is all smoke and mirrors to keep the flow of cash running smoothly into Washington and eventually into their own pockets.

The following are Mike Bloomberg’s remarks as prepared for delivery at the Immigration Reform: Outlook 2014 event at the National Press Club.

The one thing, all kidding aside, that hasn’t changed and won’t: I’m going to keep pressing Washington to act on the issues that matter most when it comes to keeping America competitive, and America safe, and America strong, and few things matter as much as immigration. (Wrong dipshit, jobs and a thriving economy is what is important, immigration reform pales in comparison.)

I have said repeatedly, our current immigration laws are “national suicide” (Really? And how exactly is putting 12 million new people on the books good for us?)

Because I see industry after industry, company after company, school after school improving overseas, and if we don’t do something, we’re going to find ourselves someday on the backside of the curve, and it’s very hard to play catch up in this world. (Bullshit, prove it. Which countries are you referring too?)

 We all agree that we need stronger borders and better enforcement. (No shit Sherlock) But we also agree that turning away foreign-born innovators and entrepreneurs and the best and brightest immigrant students educated here – is about the worst economic policy anybody could possibly have. (So we have been turning away scientists and surgeons? Doubt it. The argument is over the immigrants that would land on our welfare system and in out prisons…not nuclear physicist you dumbass)

The good news is that at the state level people like Governor Snyder and our governor in New York understand that they have an obligation to do everything they can to urge Congress – because it is a federal law that needs to be passed (Really more federal law, they aren’t enforcing the immigration laws that we have in place now.)

It’s encouraging that Speaker Boehner and House Leadership will set up a set of principles for immigration reform that will be released soon. (Great, the GOP is getting on board, guess the Chamber of Commerce backing RINO’s removed whatever spines they had left.)

The principles they’ll lay out won’t satisfy everybody – as someone once said, Democracy is that we try to get to the middle and that everyone should walk away with something, and you never want to walk away with everything, because next time you won’t get anything. (Oh I see, give a little here, and get something in return, isn’t that what happened when Reagan negotiated amnesty? Washington promised future spending cuts after amnesty was passed, and remind me again what happened? Oh that’s right…NOTHING!)

Bloomberg is in bed with the GOP establishment and like minded Democrats because basically they have become one and the same. He is using his money to rattle sabers against Tea Party politicians and is looking for support from perceived GOP allies. Like I said kids….smoke and mirrors.

In March, the Latino population in California will overtake the white population, according to a report in Gov. Jerry Brown‘s 2014-15 budget proposal. The date was pushed back from the initial date that was supposed to be seven months before because the Latino birth rate was not quite as high as previously suggested. At one time, violent crimes attributed to Mexican and Central American gangs were largely confined to Los Angeles. However, just as illegal aliens have spread across this country, so too has a veritable crime wave. We are now experiencing the early stages of the most violent gang epidemic we have ever seen.

I don’t get it, I don’t understand it, and I am more than pissed off about it. How can anyone in their right minds consider giving 12 million illegal aliens amnesty a good thing for America?
Jeh Johnson is basically spewing the left propaganda that has been laid out by Obama and his liberal asshats. The phrase “earned the right” and “come out of the shadows” has been long the mantra of the left to try and gin up compassion for amnesty.

This happens way to often around here. This accident happened a few miles from me last weekend and this is not a rare occurrence. We have a HUGE problem with illegals. I checked our our county jail website which lists prisoners and their offenses and I would guess 60% or more were hispanic. Considering the hispanic population in the community of around 5% I would constitute this as a problem.

Note that Mr. Hernandeez was deported in 2008 for a DUI offense. If you think the border is secure I have a few thousand miles of beach front property I can sell you in Nebraska.

A man accused of running over and killing a woman who was sitting on the sidewalk Sunday may have been driving with a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit.

Ramiro Serrano Hernandez, 26, was booked into the Utah County Jail Sunday after police say he hit and killed Ashlee Zimmer, 22. During two Breathalyzer tests, Hernandez blew a 0.169 on one attempt and 0.192 on the other, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court. The legal limit is 0.08.

“It’s baffling to me that somebody who has been drinking will even risk it and jump behind the wheel. So you got a guy who makes a decision one early Sunday morning. And because of that single decision, it’s going to change not only his life but a lot of people’s lives forever,” Martinez said. “So a split second, stupid decision to get behind the wheel to do who knows what, meaning he probably wasn’t going anywhere important, I don’t know where he was going, but I never understand it. It just doesn’t make any sense.”

Earlier in the evening, Hernandez had been cited by police for being drunk and disorderly, Martinez said. He reportedly had been drinking at a wedding but was not driving at that time. After someone drove him home, however, he apparently decided to go out again, this time behind the wheel of a Jeep Cherokee, police said.

About 1:30 a.m. Sunday near 844 N. 100 West, Hernandez made “an abrupt left turn in the middle of the block,” striking a parked vehicle before hitting Zimmer who was sitting on the sidewalk, according to the police affidavit.

“Hernandez’s vehicle continued over the sidewalk, through a 3-foot-high vinyl fence, across about a 10-foot section of (grass), over a cement curbing, through about a 4-foot section of landscaping and into the glass windows of a business. Tire track evidence at the scene shows the suspect vehicle backed up once and then forward, hitting into the business a second time,” the affidavit states.

Zimmer’s husband rushed out of the house after hearing the collision and pounded on Hernandez’s window to get him to turn off his vehicle after he spotted his wife underneath the rear of the car, police said.

Hernandez got out of the Jeep and ran. He was found by officers a short distance away hiding behind a Dumpster, according to the affidavit. When officers took him into custody, “his eyes were bloodshot. There was also a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. Hernandez was unsteady on his feet,” police wrote

He was arrested for investigation of automobile homicide, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident and driving on an expired license. Monday in 4th Distinct Court, bail was set at $500,000 cash only for Hernandez and an immigration hold was placed on him while federal officials checked his status.

Hernandez allegedly told police he was deported to Mexico in 2008 after being arrested for DUI in 2008 by Pleasant Grove police. In May, Hernandez was cited for driving without a valid license, according to Utah state court records.

Norton replied, “Oh, yeah and you got to watch out because Texas — when Texas goes full blown — the Republicans better have it good now because they are not long for this world.”

“Meaning what?” Erbé interjected.

“Meaning that the growth of the Hispanic population is going to mean the end of this section of this – this southern section white party of old men and they know it,” Norton said.
