Two Wrongs Make It Right?

Two Wrongs Make It Right?

The reasoning behind the GSA Vegas scandal is government waste at best, but saying basically, “well the other guys spent a lot too” is just absurd.

Like a mentioned in an earlier post, this is a federal government that spends taxpayer money with no regard for the state of the nation.

Once again, we are boned.

Two House committees now are probing the agency. One of those, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, posted the video of the GSA employees online.

Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said a briefing Thursday by the Office of the Inspector General shows General Services Administrator Martha Johnson and Steven Leeds, senior counselor to the administrator, were told in May 2011 about the investigation of the conference. They resigned Monday.

The administration also argued Friday night that the cost of the Western Regional Conference increased sharply under the Bush White House — from $93,000 in 2004 to $323,855 in 2006 to $655,025 in 2008, then $840,616 in 2010, or just 28 percent under Obama.

However, on Saturday morning Emily Baker, a former GSA regional administrator for President Bush, suggested to Fox News that the Obama administration is spinning the numbers.

Real Un-employment at just over 19%

Real Un-employment at just over 19%

Stopped in to check out the Bigs and noticed this particular picture. What struck me about it was the men standing in line at this job fair. How old would you guess their average age. From the looks I would say that late forties early fifties is about right. What happened to this countries manufacturing companies? Where did the jobs go that you worked for 30 years at one place and retired? How did it get to the point where companies don’t or won’t provide some kind of benefits for their workers?

It is just a damn shame what our ploliticians have done to this country, and I mean all of them.  With a record 87 million people unemployed, the politicians “kick the can down the road” mentality has hit the end of the road. I am unemployed, have been since Christmas, my company closed the doors because we could not compete in this economy. I would be one of the 50 somethings standing in this picture. Damn shame.

Mike Wallace Dead at 93

Mike Wallace Dead at 93

Evening news used to be something that, as a kid, I would watch because the old man was watching it. With three network channels at the time, I was a captive audience, no other choices. I was so busy later in life raising a family that I did not get involved with the politics of the news media, basically I thought that they had to be un-bias, it was part their journalism oath. I had no idea that politics in the MSM was herding the sheep behind the scenes.

So the point of the post is simply-Who did you trust as a news anchor on network news? I know Wallace was a 60 Minutes guy, but did you trust him?

Amercians In Europe

Amercians In Europe

Got this in an email. I had to tweak it a bit in order to fit, apologies to whoever made it.

Our European Arrogance – In Alphabetical Order

Apologize to no one.
Remind those of our sacrifice and don’t confuse arrogance with leadership.
The count is 104,366  dead, brave Americans.

And we have to watch an American elected leader who apologizes to Europe and the
Middle East that our country is “arrogant”!
HOW MANY FRENCH, DUTCH, ITALIANS,
BELGIANS AND BRITS ARE BURIED ON
OUR SOIL… AFTER DEFENDING US
AGAINST OUR ENEMIES?

WE DON’T ASK FOR PRAISE…
BUT WE HAVE ABSOULUTELY NO NEED TO APOLOGIZE!

Freddy Couples In The Mix At The Masters

Freddy Couples In The Mix At The Masters

One of my favorite players, a little trivia:

  • Couples enjoys a reputation for being one of the most laid-back, easygoing players on the PGA Tour. His best friend on Tour, Davis Love III, confirms this: “Everybody thinks Fred’s relaxed on the golf course, but he’s more tense on the golf course than anywhere. He’s a relaxed guy.”
  • Couples is an avid gardener. Couples learned gardening from his grandfather, who was a groundskeeper at Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle.
  • Inducted into the National Italian-American Sports Hall of Fame in 2007.
  • Couples is one of few professional golfers who does not use a glove at any time.
  • Couples is a good friend of Michael Jordan and a season ticket holder for the Charlotte Bobcats, where Jordan is the majority owner.

Women And The Masters

Women And The Masters

So the Obama administration hands out $1.6 billion to Egypt and potentially to the Muslim Brotherhood who has stated that Sharia law is their ultimate goal.

Now I don’t know that much about Sharia law, but I don’t think that it empowers women.

Obama say’s that women should be allowed membership at Augusta National Golf Club, home of The Masters.

Am I the only one that can see the irony in that? A religion that has ZERO women’s rights gets billions and a country club that has an all male membership requirement get’s vilified by Obama for not allowing women.
Update: Ok somebody does get it.  h/t Kickin’ & Screamin’

WTF. Does anybody really give a shit if the Martha Burkes of the world are allowed at Augusta.

Obama Gives $1.5 Billion To Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood

Obama Gives $1.5 Billion To Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood

What? I thought Egypt does not want our stinkin’ money.
Egyptians’ opposition to U.S. economic aid continued to climb in early 2012. More than eight in 10 Egyptians in February said they opposed U.S. economic aid, up 11 percentage points since December and up 30 points since April 2011 when Gallup first posed the question.

Oh, my mistake, they do want our stinkin’ money…or else:
Earlier this week, the Muslim Brotherhood threatened to sever Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel if the United States cuts off foreign aid to Egypt. The Brotherhood’s threats are escalating a political crisis at a time when democracy in Egypt is just starting to blossom

But I thought they said they would not run a candidate for President:
Muslim Brotherhood: We will not run for Egyptian presidency

Wait for it:
The Muslim Brotherhood candidate for Egypt’s presidency was cheered on by supporters on Thursday when he registered to run in an election where his main rivals will be other Islamists and candidates who served under the ousted president, Hosni Mubarak.
Khairat al-Shater, 61, a millionaire businessman and leading strategist in the Brotherhood, was named as its candidate last week in a policy reversal by the group that previously pledged it would not participate.

Surely Sharia Law would be a sticking point for Obama, ya know, considering his fight for women’s rights:
Today the Muslim Brotherhood candidate Khairat al-Shater told reporters that Sharia law would be his “first and final” objective as president.

What a bunch of bullshit! Would you trust this man and his Muslim Brotherhood ?
