So the reason we permit these guys to keep their security clearances is actually twofold:

1. To keep them legal to accept classified information, in case the president needs to call them out of retirement to advise him on a national security matter.

With Comey and McCabe proven leakers, with Brennan looking like he arranged the Comey briefing just to leak it, and calling Trump a traitor every week, etc., I would say the likelihood that Trump will call up on these Genius Experts’ Expert Genius to be about the likelihood that Kate Upton will pay me thirty million dollars to sit on my face.     here….

It really is quite simple. Everyone is smart except Donald J. Trump. That’s why they all are billionaires and all got elected President. Only Trump does not know what he is doing. Only Trump does not know how to negotiate with Vladimir Putin. Anderson Cooper knows how to stand up to Putin. The whole crowd at MSNBC does. All the journalists do.
They could not stand up to Matt Lauer at NBC. They could not stand up to Charlie Rose at CBS. They could not stand up to Mark Halperin at NBC. Nor up to Leon Wieseltier at the New Republic, nor Jann Wenner at Rolling Stone, nor Michael Oreskes at NPR, at the New York Times, or at the Associated Press. But — oh, wow! — can they ever stand up to Putin! Only Trump is incapable of negotiating with the Russian tyrant.
Remember the four years when Anderson Cooper was President of the United States? And before that — when the entire Washington Post editorial staff jointly were elected to be President? Remember? Neither do I.
The Seedier Media never have negotiated life and death, not corporate life and death, and not human life and death. They think they know how to negotiate, but they do not know how. They go to a college, are told by peers that they are smart, get some good grades, proceed to a graduate degree in journalism, and get hired as analysts. Now they are experts, ready to take on Putin and the Iranian Ayatollahs at age 30.

What’s Good For The Goose…..

First, Trump has every right to be gun shy when it comes to his “Intelligence Community” as some of them, if not most, are hostile to his presidency. Trumps correction today to clarify what he meant was good enough for some but the left is still going bonkers. I chalk this up as an unforced error by POTUS, not for his meeting with Putin but his opening a door for criticism from both sides….unfortunate.

Second, election meddling is standard fare and has been going on for hundreds of years. The media didn’t bat an eye when Obama meddled in Netanyahu’s reelection campaign. Considering Israel is an ally and not an enemy takes me to the old saying “with friends like that…….”.  At least he didn’t get the Gaddafi treatment.

Third, you wanna talk about treason.

Mexico has done amazing amounts of meddling in our elections, particularly the last one.  It was the only nation that openly advertised to its nationals to come over to its diplomatic consulates (not places U.S. nationals are allowed to go to) and register to vote in U.S. elections, something that in California undoubtedly led to a lot of Mexican nationals voting and the resulting cancellation of Americans’ votes, meaning the disenfranchisement of American voters.  That’s a foreign policy objective for them.

California, understand, does not check if voters are illegal and on its voter signature form and has slyly changed its “I certify I am a U.S. citizen” to “I certify I am a U.S. resident” to avoid prosecuting illegals for voting.  Mexico knows this well.  With Mexico registering the voters of what is not its own country, but a foreign country, you can bet a lot of illegal voting has come courtesy of the Mexican government.    here….

But let us look at reality. Trump gave Poland anti-missile technology a few months ago. That is a concrete message to the Russian bear, and it dwarfs any parsing of syntax at a press conference by 20-something journalism majors. I hope that the President continues to support freedom in Eastern Europe, and continues to push back against Russian expansion in the Middle East. If he does that, I will cheerfully tolerate conciliatory press conferences every now and then. _ CBD over at Ace of Spades HQ
