Escaping Utopia

Escaping Utopia

“In California, we all know people who have bailed out for places where the taxes are low, regulations are light and the cost of living reasonable. But the evidence here is not just anecdotal.

In a recent piece in the Washington Times, economist Stephen Moore presents an amazing statistic: “Of the 10 blue states that Hillary Clinton won by the largest percentage margins — California, Massachusetts, Vermont, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Illinois, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Connecticut — every single one of them lost domestic migration (excluding immigration) over the last 10 years (2004-14).

But here’s the kicker: The exact opposite is true in those states that supported Donald Trump by the largest margin. Those states – including Wyoming, West Virginia, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Dakota, and Idaho — saw net domestic in-migration.

So what are the characteristics of those Hillary-supporting states that are bleeding productive citizens? Here, Moore doesn’t mince words: “They are the loser states. They are all progressive. High tax rates. High welfare benefits. Heavy regulation. Environmental extremism. Super minimum wages. Most outlaw energy drilling. The whole left-wing playbook is on display in the Hillary states. And people are leaving in droves.”     here…  via Ace

Out Of Control

Out Of Control

Reading through the headlines this morning and checking out my daily reads on the interwebby thing I see that the moonbats are not letting up. They’re dong their damnedest to keep the country divided one tweet, blog, tv rant, and tv interview at a time. If I remember right Trump has called for unity many times since the election even asking people to stop booing the press corp at his “Thank You” tour, yet they continue to attack him and the people who voted for him. This isn’t going to end, Trump is going to be vilified at every move, these lefty liberal nut jobs won’t stop until Trumps out of office regardless of any successes he may have.

To my recollection when Obama won, (twice), conservatives were crest fallen but moved on. Any complaints about Obama were self inflicted by himself with his executive orders and unconstitutional laws. When you force somebody to pay for something they don’t need or want, (ACA), then gift amnesty people who broke the law (Dreamers), and turn around and demand that perverts are allowed in girls bathrooms, you kind of open yourself up to criticism. Trump has done nothing official as POTUS yet the attacks by celebs and the media continue…and it’s some nasty stuff.

If this is the way it’s gonna be for the next four to eight years then it’s game on. If it’s war they want then it’s war they’ll get. Obviously these people don’t understand what damage the left has done to the country, they don’t see the avalanche of Republican legislators elected in the last six years, they don’t see that regular Americans, (aka Deplorable s), have done everything they could to stop the madness of liberal policies being shoved down our throat by electing their representatives successfully to office.

I wondered where I was going to find content for my little blog since Obama and Hillarys reign of tyranny is almost over but I can see the media, celebs, politicians, and general moonbattery will give me plenty of material to keep this little corner of my world going.   So for all the liberals out there thinking they can continue calling conservatives racist, misogynist, fascist, and deplorable without consequences, well…..Fuck You…..War!

Irishman Dies from Stubbornness, Whiskey                           here….1010929438nh_conn_20161213

Chris Connors died, at age 67, after trying to box his bikini-clad hospice nurse just moments earlier. Ladies man, game slayer, and outlaw Connors told his last inappropriate joke on Friday, December 9, 2016, that which cannot be printed here. Anyone else fighting ALS and stage 4 pancreatic cancer would have gone quietly into the night, but Connors was stark naked drinking Veuve in a house full of friends and family as Al Green played from the speakers. The way he died is just like he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority and he paved his own way. And if you said he couldn’t do it, he would make sure he could.

Most people thought he was crazy for swimming in the ocean in January; for being a skinny Irish Golden Gloves boxer from Quincy, Massachusetts; for dressing up as a priest and then proceeding to get into a fight at a Jewish deli. Many gawked at his start of a career on Wall Street without a financial background – but instead with an intelligent, impish smile, love for the spoken word, irreverent sense of humor, and stunning blue eyes that could make anyone fall in love with him.

As much as people knew hanging out with him would end in a night in jail or a killer screwdriver hangover, he was the type of man that people would drive 16 hours at the drop of a dime to come see. He lived 1000 years in the 67 calendar years we had with him because he attacked life; he grabbed it by the lapels, kissed it, and swung it back onto the dance floor. At the age of 26 he planned to circumnavigate the world – instead, he ended up spending 40 hours on a life raft off the coast of Panama. In 1974, he founded the Quincy Rugby Club. In his thirties, he sustained a knife wound after saving a woman from being mugged in New York City. He didn’t slow down: at age 64, he climbed to the base camp of Mount Everest. Throughout his life, he was an accomplished hunter and birth control device tester (with some failures, notably Caitlin Connors, 33; Chris Connors, 11; and Liam Connors, 8).

He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important – the simplicity of living a life with those you love. Although he threw some of the most memorable parties during the greater half of a century, he would trade it all for a night in front of the fire with his family in Maine. His acute awareness of the importance of a life lived with the ones you love over any material possession was only handicapped by his territorial attachment to the remote control of his Sonos music.

Chris enjoyed cross dressing, a well-made fire, and mashed potatoes with lots of butter. His regrets were few, but include eating a rotisserie hot dog from an unmemorable convenience store in the summer of 1986.

Of all the people he touched, both willing and unwilling, his most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Emily Ayer Connors who supported him in all his glory during his heyday, and lovingly supported him physically during their last days together.

Absolut vodka and Simply Orange companies are devastated by the loss of Connors. A “Celebration of Life” will be held during Happy Hour (4 p.m.) at York Harbor Inn on Monday, December 19.

In lieu of flowers, please pay open bar tab or donate to Connors’ water safety fund atwww.thechrisconnorsfund.com.

Less Is More

Less Is More

It was Einstein or Ben Franklin who said the definition of insanity as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

This came to mind as the Trump cabinet is being put in place. It has nothing to do with the picks but everything to do with the government departments to be led. The latest appointment as Energy Secretary is Rick Perry, the same Rick Perry who sputtered out during a presidential debate that this particular department should be shut down. I whole heartily agree that there are a number of alphabet departments that should be closed but my point is that by appointing a guy to lead a department, that in his estimation should be shuttered, is irony on steroids.

Trumps claim during his campaign was to eliminate waste and drain the swamp that is Washington DC. That’s all well and fine but the proof is in the pudding and right now all I can see is another administration taking it’s turn with the toys. Don’t get me wrong I love the majority of the picks, (jury is still out on Mitch McConnells little dove taking over transportation department), but this all seems like business as usual.

If Trump really wanted to send shock waves through DC he would place these people as clearing house appointments charged with eliminating alphabet agencies and letting states absorb the responsibilities dictating size and scope on their dime. The environmental/energy needs in Florida are different from say North Dakota, thus the states decide on their own issues versus a one size fits all policy, let the states have some skin in the game considering industrial impacts and constituents/business input from the people who actually live there. It’s ridiculous having bureaucrats making crucial decisions from their cubicles in DC on a farmers irrigation pond in west Texas. If you expand that thought, the same thing can be said with the Department of Education, EPA, GSA, Department of Labor, etc…

It’s my hope Trump and his cabinet understand all of this otherwise we are doing the same thing over and over again. Stop the insanity….less is more.

An Observation Of Reality

An Observation Of Reality

“I don’t understand the argument itself,” the “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and Daily Caller founder stated. “I don’t think anyone dismisses that Russia was hacking servers or email accounts in the United States. They’ve done it for years, and so have the Chinese.”

“The question is did that sway the election results, and if it did, how so exactly?”

“Let’s just say they did. What does that mean? It means that voters got more information than they would have had otherwise. It’s not a defense of hacking, it’s merely an observation of reality.”

“Voters knew things they wouldn’t have known otherwise,” Carlson added before asking “are they really making the argument that voters ought to have had less information?”

“The problem, again, isn’t fake news. It’s real news. Nobody disputes that the WikiLeaks stuff was real.”  here….
