A Liberal Masquerading As A Sports Writer

A Liberal Masquerading As A Sports Writer

I know I went off about Bob Costas and his inappropriate rant during Sunday Night Football last Sunday. I still think he is backwards in his thinking, but I give him props for going on O’Reilly’s show last night doing his best to explain.

But the sports writer Bob paraphrased is Jason Whitlock and he is a complete and utter buffoon. I have never seen anyone spout such racially biased blather and is completely unaware that he does it.
A few quotes from his latest column.

Bob Costas quoted and paraphrased my ancillary point during a courageous halftime commentary on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.” He infuriated the right-wing entertainment media and gave Bill O’Reilly and his disciples the opening to pretend the Second Amendment is under some sort of serious attack. It is not. We just finished a hotly contested election cycle, and not one political candidate that I can think of uttered a single meaningful word about gun violence, gun control, gun culture and the outdatedness of the justification for the Second Amendment.

There were bigger fish to fry you idiot, gun control is a liberal dream, even if it is not front and center in an election cycle and Obama is trying to get the moderate vote.

This issue is so dead in this country that the flag-waving, right-wing entertainment media have to drag up a non-political, non-voting sports columnist and a talented sports broadcaster as their straw men to justify their phony outrage. I don’t think I’ll be called before the Senate to speak on any toothless gun-control legislation the NRA lobby lets slip through a crack.

For being a “non-political, non-voting sports columnists”, you certainly express your feelings favoring the left on social issues that, if you don’t vote ….you should shut the fuck up. FOX Sports should boot your ass.

I’m a grown-ass man and it’s 2012. I don’t have to shuffle off to the Big House when summoned. O’Reilly is not Boehner, Pelosi or Obama. He’s a TV entertainer who has spent the weeks after the election crying about the end of “white establishment” America, the end of the days when an upstanding white man felt entitled to summon whomever he wanted whenever he wanted to the Big House to dance.

Chicken shit. It would be pretty easy to blow your cover as a closet liberal spewing your point of view as a “sports writer”. Your from Chicago for hell’s sake, you know you have an Obama bumper sticker.

I believe we should re-examine our love affair with guns. They don’t protect us from tyranny. Guns are toys in America. Guns are a dangerous hobby. Guns are a macho accessory, no different from a shiny sports car.

We can’t see this or even have a discussion about it because the propaganda-political-lobby-machine, the NRA, has hoodwinked America into believing handguns make us safer. The NRA, like the KKK, has brainwashed us through fear and division.

Yeah, I trust this guy.

Union Causes 627 To Lose Jobs

Union Causes 627 To Lose Jobs

So they vote 92% to strike, after months of negotiations, and Hostess told them if they strike the plants will close. They struck, they closed the plants…..forever.

Employee or former employee.    Seems like a no brainer for me, considering the job outlook for the next four years. Good luck Hostess workers, I am sure the company can find a right to work state to start a new plant. Enjoy your unemployment.
UPDATE: 18,500 Workers lose their jobs due to 5000 union bakers. What a sad, sad story. Don’t blame Hostess one little bit.
The closing will result in Hostess’ nearly 18,500 workers losing their jobs as the company shuts 33 bakeries and 565 distribution centers nationwide. The bakers’ union represents around 5,000.
Hostess will move to sell its assets to the highest bidder. That could mean new life for some of its most popular products, which could be scooped up at auction and attached to products from other companies.
“We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” said CEO Gregory Rayburn in a statement.
The company had given a 5 p.m. ET deadline for the bakers to return to work or face a shutdown of the company. The unions at Hostess could not be reached immediately for comment on the decision.

If you work for a man, in heaven’s name work for him. If he pays you wages which supply you bread and butter, work for him; speak well of him; stand by him, and stand by the institution he represents. If put to a pinch, an ounce of loyalty is worth a pound of cleverness. If you must vilify, condemn, and eternally disparage, resign your position, and when you are outside, damn to your heart’s content, but as long as you are part of the institution do not condemn it. If you do that, you are loosening the tendrils that are holding you to the institution, and at the first high wind that comes along, you will be uprooted and blown away, and will probably never know the reason why.                                    _Elbert Hubbard

I Just Don’t Get Californians

I Just Don’t Get Californians

Looking at the electoral map you can see that California has 55 electoral votes, New York 31, and Illinois 21. These states have some of the highest crime rates, worst educational systems, and billions in debt due to poor choices made over decades by your politicians. Yet most of the red states have brought their states back from the brink after the recession and are now seeing an uptick in jobs and revenue.

So why then is California still voting democratic? They have cities filing for bankruptcy, the public school system is a wreck, large businesses are fleeing the state due to relentless taxation and regulation, (see Comcast & Campbells Soup), and in all of their infinite wisdom, they brought back Jerry Brown, and have decided to build a high-speed rail that will cost $98.8 billion which frankly, you don’t have. Of course they do get federal dollars for the high-speed rail, but that is now MY money, going to a state that is in fiscal denial.

Why Californians? Why?
Is it that you have been so indoctrinated in liberal bullshit from grade school to college that you can’t see the forest for the trees? How can you as citizens side with politicians that have done nothing but raise taxes, implement ridiculous regulations, fail massively in the attempt to educate your kids, and watch large employers leave the state like rats jumping off a sinking ship, and at the same time, give themselves generous pensions and healthcare that are paid for by you the taxpayer. What is this blind loyalty?

Have you looked around at other states? Do you know that Texas, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Arizona are cleaning your clock and raiding your revenue pantry by welcoming your former businesses and the jobs/revenue that comes with them? In a perfect world everybody would be working and making hundreds of thousands a year, but this is the real world. Unicorns and fairy dust are not considered a reliable means of revenue. You can lean on that Hope & Change thing all you want, but like unicorns, it is not real.

So what are you hanging your fiscal hat on? What is the future generation, currently in grade school, going to do with the unsustainable and massive debt you have burdened them with by your head in the sand approach to your elected officials. This shit is not going to get better for you people.

You have 55 electoral votes, more than any state in the union, and you still vote for and idea that is currently destroying your state. And you put our country in peril because of that vote. Whichever political side gets the California vote, has the biggest foot in the door to the Whitehouse, and your continued blind faith in the democratic model, is threatening not just your state, but MY country as well. Wake up Californians, look at the electoral map and do some research. Look to the red states and see how their economies are doing compared to yours. Realize that you need to change your ways. Your weather may be beautiful but it will be hard to enjoy living in a cardboard box under the freeway.

Remember this guy? You people used to make good choices.

Crazy Lake Powell Video

Crazy Lake Powell Video

I live 4 hours away from Lake Powell…and it is one of the coolest places in America. It has more water front than the coast of California and the parties are epic. We have been going down since ’95 with about 30 people, a houseboat for party HQ, and 5 or 6 runabouts and jet skis. If you ever get the chance….go.

Fishing In Alaska

Fishing In Alaska

Got this in am email today….don’t know how old or how true. But a nice story if true.

Some fishing stories are a little hard to believe, but this guy has pictures to prove his story…

I’ve heard of salmon jumping into boats, but never anything quite like this…

Tom Satre told the Sitka Gazette that he was out with a charter group on his 62-foot fishing vessel when four juvenile black-tailed deer swam directly toward his boat.

“Once the deer reached the boat, the four began to circle the boat, looking directly at us.  We could tell right away that the young bucks were distressed.

I opened up my back gate and we helped the typically skittish and absolutely wild animals onto the boat.  In all my years fishing, I’ve never seen anything quite like it!

Once onboard, they collapsed with exhaustion, shivering.”

“This is a picture I took of the rescued bucks on the back of my boat, the Alaska Quest.

We headed for Taku Harbour . Once we reached the dock, the first buck that we had been pulled from the water hopped onto the dock, looked back as if to say ‘thank you’ and disappeared into the forest.

After a bit of prodding and assistance, two more followed, but the smallest deer needed a little more help.

This is me carrying the little guy.

My daughter, Anna, and son, Tim, helped the last buck to its feet.  We didn’t know how long they had been in the icy waters or if there had been others who did not survive. My daughter later told me

that the experience was something that she would never forget, and I suspect the deer felt the same way as well!”

I told you!  Awesome… huh?

Obama Admin Ignores FOIA Request

Obama Admin Ignores FOIA Request

As per my July 7th 2012 post, the Obama regime backs, and is in bed with, La Raza. Judicial Watch has sued the Obama HHS to recover records detailing the taxpayer funding of La Raza under the “Freedom of Information Act” but as of today, they have been given no response other than an acknowledgment that they received the request. To go in-depth of what Obama and his minions are up to, check out Tom Fittons story over at Big Government.

The fact that the National Council of La Raza openly advocates for illegal alien sanctuary policies, such as drivers’ licenses and discounted tuition for illegal aliens, is no secret. But what many people do not realize is that the organization has also been linked to the Mexican reconquista movement, which seeks to conquer the American Southwest and return it to Mexico.

July 7, 2012 post: Eric Holder Kisses La Raza’s Ass
A shameless hispanic voter grab.

Do you know what La Raza really is? They want the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo  repealed under the name of:

The name Aztlán was first taken up by a group of Chicano independence activists led by Oscar Zeta Acosta during the Chicano movement of the 1960s and 1970s. They used the name Aztlán to refer to the lands of Northern Mexico that were annexed by the United States as a result of the Mexican-American War. Combined with the claim of some historical linguists and anthropologists that the original homeland of the Aztecan peoples was located in the southwestern United States[citation needed], Aztlán, in this sense, became a symbol for mestizo activists who believe they have a legal and primordial right to the land. In order to exercise this right, some members of the Chicano movement propose that a new nation be created, a Republica del Norte.[9]

In an address to the National Council of La Raza convention in Las Vegas on Saturday, Attorney General Eric Holder told the Hispanic advocacy group that the gains of the Civil Rights era were coming “under renewed threat,” and touted the administration’s efforts in protecting the rights of minority groups and immigrants.

Fuck You!

Who The Hell Is In Charge Of These Agencies?

Who The Hell Is In Charge Of These Agencies?

Who do these government agencies think they are? How can they think that it is OK to take possession of a company vehicle and an employee of a small business without the permission of the business owner? Just who the hell do they think they are? I can’t fathom any reason whatsoever that would give a government agency a reason to pull a stunt like this. And what is sad, taxpayers will have to make this right.
Heads should roll on this. The people in charge need to start losing jobs, they have already been directly responsible for the death of the truck driver. Absolutely mind-blowing.
Fast & Furious make room for a new bunch of meddling fools. A Nod To Ace Of Spades for the story and link.

The phone rang before sunrise. It woke Craig Patty, owner of a tiny North Texas trucking company, to vexing news about Truck 793 – a big red semi supposedly getting repairs in Houston.

“Your driver was shot in your truck,” said the caller, a business colleague. “Your truck was loaded with marijuana. He was shot eight times while sitting in the cab. Do you know anything about your driver hauling marijuana?”

“What did you say?” Patty recalled asking. “Could you please repeat that?”

The truck, it turned out, had been everywhere but in the repair shop.

Commandeered by one of his drivers, who was secretly working with federal agents, the truck had been hauling marijuana from the border as part of an undercover operation. And without Patty’s knowledge, the Drug Enforcement Administration was paying his driver, Lawrence Chapa, to use the truck to bust traffickers.

At least 17 hours before that early morning phone call, Chapa was shot dead in front of more than a dozen law enforcement officers – all of them taken by surprise by hijackers trying to steal the red Kenworth T600 truck and its load of pot.

In the confusion of the attack in northwest Harris County, compounded by officers in the operation not all knowing each other, a Houston policeman shot and wounded a Harris County sheriff’s deputy.

Still waiting

But eight months later, Patty still can’t get recompense from the U.S. government’s decision to use his truck and employee without his permission.

His company, which hauls sand as part of hydraulic fracturing operations for oil and gas companies, was pushed to the brink of failure after the attack because the truck was knocked out of commission, he said. Patty had only one other truck in operation.
In documents shared with the Houston Chronicle, he is demanding that the DEA pay $133,532 in repairs and lost wages over the bullet-sprayed truck, and $1.3 million more for the damage to himself and his family, who fear retaliation by a drug cartel over the bungled narcotics sting.
“When you start a new business, there are obvious pitfalls you go through, a learning curve,” said Patty, who before buying his two trucks worked in the pharmaceutical industry. “But who would ever be ready to deal with this?

“How am I — a small businessman, father of three, American Joe from Texas — supposed to make a claim against a federal agency that has conveniently shrouded itself behind a red, white and blue cloak of confidentiality and secrecy?” Copies of letters and emails from Patty’s insurance company state that it won’t pay for repairs because the truck was part of a law-enforcement operation. Patty drew from his 401K retirement fund to repair the truck, which was out of operation for 100 days.

“I was not part of this,” he said. “I had absolutely no knowledge of any of it until after it happened. “For its part, the DEA has not admitted that it was using Chapa as a spy because its official policy is not to comment on whether someone was an informant. Lisa Johnson, a spokeswoman for the DEA Houston Division, confirmed that Patty’s demand had been received and noted that it would be investigated by the agency. But the Chronicle established Chapa was an informant based on interviews with multiple law-enforcement officials who spoke on the condition they not be named, and later by courtroom comments of prosecutors.

Patty’s request chronicles much of what he’s been through, including the operating costs for his trucks and everything repaired or replaced due to the attack. Among other disturbing chores was the need to hire a Spring-based company to clean up the mess in the cab caused by the killing.

Houston lawyer Mark Bennett, who is advising Patty, said if Patty’s initial claim is not resolved, the next step would be to sue.

1,000-mile detour

Patty hired Chapa five weeks before the shooting and now wonders how many of the trips in the $90,000 rig included DEA work. GPS information from the truck reveals an unauthorized trek to the Rio Grande Valley in the days before Chapa was killed. He took a 1,000-mile round trip detour from the route he was supposed to travel. Perhaps most unnerving, Patty says, is that drug mobsters now likely know his name, and certainly know his truck.

Past President’s Cabinet Appointments That Actually Worked In The Private Sector

Past President’s Cabinet Appointments That Actually Worked In The Private Sector

The percentage of each past president’s cabinet who had worked in the private business sector prior to their appointment to the cabinet. You know what the private business sector is — real-life business, not a government job.  A Nod To Woodsterman for letting me plagiarise his site.

Here are the percentages.

T. Roosevelt……………….. 38%

Taft………………………….. 40%

Wilson ……………………… 52%

Harding…………………….. 49%

Coolidge…………………… 48%

Hoover……………………… 42%

F. Roosevelt………………. 50%

Truman…………………….. 50%

Eisenhower……………….. 57%

Kennedy…………………… 30%

Johnson…………………… 47%

Nixon……………………….. 53%

Ford………………………… 42%

Carter………………………. 32%

Reagan…………………….. 56%

GH Bush…………………… 51%

Clinton …………………….. 39%

GW Bush………………….. 55%

Obama………………………. 8%

This helps explain the incompetence of this administration:only 8% of them have ever worked in private business! And these people are trying to tell our big corporations how to run their business?
How can the president of a major nation and society, the one with the most successful economic system in world history, stand and talk about business when he’s never worked for one?  Or about jobs when he has never really had one?  And when it’s the same for 92% of his senior staff and closest
advisers?  They’ve spent most of their time in academia, government and/or non-profit jobs or as “community organizers.”
