Part II

Part II

I was going to write something very snarky about Piers Morgan but I am tired and a little buzzed. This will have to do. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Just Do It Phil!

Just Do It Phil!

Yeah I know he is a Callaway guy not Nike, but for my little rant it works.

Phil decided to vent his frustration about high taxes last week, and then explained he won’t discuss it because of the backlash. To bad, he should be able to say he is getting screwed. It is the perfect model to explain to the public in layman’s terms what the affluent are dealing with. How many people have jobs because of Phil Mickelson and his charities, course design, and other business interests?

“If you add up all the federal and you look at the disability and the unemployment and the Social Security and state, my tax rate is 62, 63 percent,” Mickelson said. “So I’ve got to make some decisions on what to do.”

Len Burman, a contributor to Forbes magazine and Professor from Syracuse University decides to tell him to “quit whining”. Shame on you Mr. Burman. You are the problem, not the solution. Professor Burmans thoughtful analysis on Phil’s decision to complain:

Do you have any idea how lucky you are?

Please stop whining and give thanks for being able to earn a fabulous living playing a game and selling golf clubs (even after tax).  99.999% of people would never have that option, no matter how hard they worked on their swing.

Shame on you Forbes, I thought you were pro business. And Mr. Burman, I hope you get fired for being such a communist. Read the article here, and then read the comments. Burman gets roasted by about 99.99% of the comments, which is appropriate.
Oh by the way, this is what Governor Rick Perry had to say to Phil:
Hey Phil….Texas is home to liberty and low taxes…we would love to have you as well !!
And check out Breitbart
Excellent!!!

Nothing….They Have Done Nothing

Nothing….They Have Done Nothing

Since politicians can’t get out of each others way they passed a “fiscal cliff ” bill that does nothing. The entire reason for the deal was to get away from a sequestration law that was passed last year, to force the same politicians to CUT SPENDING!

Instead, they add 360 billion in more debt, and cut spending on programs that were not going to be used anyway.  If the CBO is the final word on costs, then why don’t they see that this deal is not a deal, it is extortion. And we are going to go through these deadlines every few months or so for the forseeable future. The Obama regime is quite adept at making these deadlines seem like a republican failure, and if they don’t vote with the democrats, somehow it is the republicans fault for terrible things happening to the middle class, seniors, and children. I can see why the GOP did what they did, but they gained nothing, and set themselves up for the same thing every couple of months.

The president spoke almost the entire 50-minute meeting, telling Republicans that if he did not get an agreement he liked, he would spend the next four years blaming them for what could turn into a global recession. The blame game would begin in earnest with his Inaugural Address and would follow up with a repeat performance in the State of the Union, a GOP source recalled. If they deny him now, he said, he would block future spending cuts for the next four years. “I put $800 billion on the table. What do I get for that?” Boehner asked. “You get nothing. I get that for free,” said Obama, adding that would not raise the Medicare eligibility age or cut Medicaid.

The only way out is for the people who voted for Obama to feel the pain of his policies. That is why voting to extend long-term unemployment benefits hurts the GOP. Not because of the billions paid by the taxpayer, (which sucks), but because it does not force an outcry from the public about the lack of jobs, it masks the very problem Obama has not fixed….. the economy stupid.

Facebook Purging All Pro Gun Accounts

Facebook Purging All Pro Gun Accounts

I started a Facebook account years ago to keep track of my children who no longer live at home. Seemed like a nice way to keep in touch and look at some of their pics.

After thousands of annoying e-mails and people trying to “friend” me, I told my wife to get rid of it. I was very pissed off that people could access me and my information that easy. So the account was dropped.
I was amused when Facebook went public and flamed out, mostly because Commiefornia assumed all of the newly minted millionaires would be able to pay more taxes, thus saving the state from it’s fiscal irresponsibilty.

Now this:

InfoWars.com is also now reporting that Facebook is running an across-the-board PURGE of pro-gun accounts. A huge number of accounts are all being systematically disabled or suspended, with all content being wiped clean.

We have entered the era of the Ministry of Truth from George Orwell’s 1984 novel. And while Facebook assaults the First Amendment in America, Senator Feinstein is busy assaulting the Second.

And it was purged for posting this:

Glad I dumped the account! Read it all here.

Unbeleivable

Unbeleivable

I really did not want to get into this sad story about the children killed in Connecticut. I wanted to be brief and to the point on my earlier post. Unfortunately the left have already started with the outrage and calls for gun control.

I am outraged also. I am outraged at the killer. I am outraged that the left could not wait for a moment of silence before politicizing this horrible event. Couldn’t you give it a day? Can’t you wait for everything to settle down? Must you always be at the forefront with your fist in the air?

Do you know what most normal people do? They say a quick prayer for the children and families, they think about their own family, they reflect on their own lives, quietly, with a sadness that you can’t quite explain.

We don’t “tweet”.

If these liberals are so outraged, be the first to write a check to the families of the victims for funeral expenses. Now that would be constructive. Instead we get this:

CNN anchor Piers Morgan called on President Obama to address gun control in the wake of today’s shooting at an elementary school in Netwown, Conn.

“No more weasly words of ‘comfort’ Mr President. This is the latest, and worst, gun outrage on your watch. Time to act. #GunControl”

Dear Colleagues: it’s time 2 act to control access 2 handguns. This not about ducks & deer. I pray for the victims. I pray for our courage.

Rep Jerry Nadler D-NY: “If now is not the time to have a serious discussion about gun control….I don’t know when is”

Hours after what appears to have been a massacre at a local elementary school in Connecticut, and with the number of victims or their identities yet known, MSNBC host Alex Wagner opined that this shooting must yield policy makers in Washington some “political capital” to introduce reform American gun ownership laws.

“It is, hopefully – we say this every, single time we cover one of these things – a line in the sand,” Wagner said. “There has got to be some kind of measurable change, some kind of reaction.”

“One would hope that there will be some political capital to reform the way in which we handle gun and gun violence in this country,” Wagner concluded.

It Is A Sad World We Live In

It Is A Sad World We Live In

What a terrible story coming out of Connecticut. I don’t know what would cause anyone to hurt young children for no reason.

I am glad the assailant is dead. His judgment will be much harsher than anything our justice system can hand down.
