A Different Era

A Different Era

Back in the day me and my idiot high school buddies all decided to go to work at a brand new Kmart in the area, the four of us all got jobs, one in electronics, two in building materials, and myself in receiving. We didn’t take these jobs with careers in mind it was just a a way to keep gas in our cars and a little mad  money to chase skirts and drag main street, that’s what was important at 16 and 17. The work didn’t require much out of us other than showing up on time and a sense of organization. We owned the place.

The store manager was a chain smoking beer drinking middle aged guy from San Diego, he had two assistant managers, one was a Deadhead from NoCal and the other a power skirt from Portland, both climbing the Kmart corporate ladder in hopes of getting their own stores down the line. The store manager and the Deadhead loved us, they appreciated that kids our age actually had a work ethic and unlike the female employees, we were low maintenance.

The power skirt, let’s call her Ashley, hated us. She hated the fact she couldn’t control us, we were just crazy kids and could care less about the job, we could go to work anywhere, this was just a place where as buddies we could all work together. Ashley tried her damnedest to get rid of us, I personally was in human resources office at least five times for whatever minor store policy violation she could come up with. Ashley didn’t know the the HR director was a local gal who knew all of us, she would write us up for whatever and put it in our file which was supposed to be a threat for future positions in the company, like I said, we didn’t give a shit.

Hang tight, I’m getting to my point.

Women working in the store were your common variety retail store female employees, young ladies, old ladies, middle aged, married and divorcees. The sexual innuendo tit for tat (pun intended) was everywhere, the older gals teased the hell of me and my buddies. There were ass slaps, crotch grabs, explicit language, and jokes,……by the ladies not the men…..it was a grand time. My buddies and I had a code for hot women shopping in the store, Blue Light specials didn’t hold a candle to Code 36, when we called Code 36 at the garden shop, every male employee dropped what they were doing and headed to concealed leering positions to check out the hot babe, (even the Deadhead assistant manager), I had binoculars at the security windows in the receiving department loft…..like I said, good times.

This lasted for a year and a half starting spring 1979 before we all headed for college or other gainful employment. Not a word was mentioned about sexual harassment, never did we hear about a female employee filing a complaint or quitting her job because of harassment. Maybe it happened I don’t know, I do know that Ashley, the power skirt, was the first feminist I had ever met and she would have been the type of person to bring accusations to the attention of management, but nothing.

My point to this long winded story is women didn’t care or didn’t mention sexual harassment back then. It’s been the last three decades that the issue has become, well, an issue. I do know that when lawyers started getting involved and women saw a chance to make a buck corporate America started mandating classes and policies to cover their asses, can’t say I blame them.

It’s a shame that the innocence of the ’70’s has turned into an atmosphere where complimenting a female co-worker could land you in the unemployment line. There seem to be no guidelines to what harassment is, there’s a difference between “that’s a nice sweater” and “suck my dick”, I would assume most men understand the difference and act accordingly. Putting a hand on a woman’s waist while taking a picture isn’t the same as grabbing her ass but the lines have been blurred, if you don’t know the rules then I would steer clear.

Men holding positions of power are a different animal, the fact that most of the men are liberals is quite astounding. Bildo Clinton got away scott free from his transgressions, maybe when the most powerful man in the world walks away unscathed from obvious assaults that green lighted the others thinking they are above the law, that or they’re just pervs and assumed their money and power would intimidate women from coming forward, it would be the latter I assume.

It all seems to exploding and men are falling like flies, I wouldn’t have lasted a week in today’s corporate world. Flirting with the gals was normal stuff for me and my buddies, but it was all innocent stuff. Grab a chicks ass and you could plan on a slap in the face, and in small town USA, probably a call to your folks. You see we monitored bad behavior ourselves, we didn’t need a lawyer telling us something we did was inappropriate, apparently nowadays men are confused about the rules.

Anywho….keep it in your pants boys, don’t dip your pen in company ink, in this age of angry females you could get canned for a double take at Sally’s ample cleavage. To all the sexual predators out there using their power and wealth to intimidate and assault women, this is all your fault and you deserve whatever punishment is handed down.

On a side note, Ashley the power skirt got her revenge, she complained to human resources because I called her a bitch, she was, I was fired an hour later. Myself and two of my other friends started college, my other buddy chose to stay and made a career at that Kmart eventually becoming the store manager, funny how it all worked out.

Fake Indians

Fake Indians

The brouhaha over Trumps “Pocahontas” comment during a White House photo op with Navajo code talkers is all to do about nothing….and something. First, Trump should have kept this particular barb for another venue, taking a shot at fake Indian Liz Warren while honoring real Indians is bad optics, and it sounds bad no matter your political religion. Second, I appreciate the Presidents willingness to take the fight to the democrats, after watching years of castrated republicans cowing to their progressive betters it’s refreshing to see the gloves off approach by Trump, just put a little more thought into the fights venue.

Watching Press Sec Huckabee-Sanders answer questions about Trumps comments is priceless. Ms. Sanders has a way of cutting to the chase as she is being verbally assaulted by the leftist horde disguised as journalists. I don’t know if she’s annoyed having to defend Trump time and again but the gal has spunk, I like that.

Fake Indian Liz Warren was apocalyptic apoplectic* in her response, which means Trump is getting under her skin, but she should also remember she brought this on herself.

Democratic Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren acknowledged for the first time late Wednesday night that she told Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania that she was Native American, but she continued to insist that race played no role in her recruitment.

“At some point after I was hired by them, I . . . provided that information to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard,’’ she said in a statement issued by her campaign. “My Native American heritage is part of who I am, I’m proud of it and I have been open about it.’’

cherokee2

Warren’s statement is her first acknowledgment that she identified herself as Native American to the Ivy League schools. While she has said she identified herself as a minority in a legal directory, she has carefully avoided any suggestion during the last month that she took further actions to promote her purported heritage.

When the issue first surfaced last month, Warren said she only learned Harvard was claiming her as a minority when she read it in the Boston Herald.    Keep reading…..

Federal statistics like those in the Harvard records, which were compiled for the Department of Labor, rely on a definition of “Native American’’ that requires both ancestry and an official affiliation with a tribe or community. The 1992-93 and 1995-96 Harvard reports indicate the university relied on that definition during those years as well as the years since. Warren has not met any of those standards. Though she continues to consider herself Native American, she has not provided any genealogical evidence.

You can’t have it all Liz, you are or you are not, there is no grey area here and all of your temper tantrums won’t change the fact you benefited by claiming you are something you are not.

* A commentor informed me of my “apoplectic” mistake, thanks much.

Keep it up people, you won’t like the end game.

An Indiana nurse is under investigation after claiming white women raise sons that tend to be ‘killers, ‘rapists’ and ‘terrorists.’

The woman, who is being identified as Indiana University Health employee Taiyesha Baker according to Fox 59, tweeted about boys being the ‘detriment to society’.

The tweet came from an account named ‘Night Nurse’ which has been linked back to Baker.46B8163C00000578-5119231-image-a-42_1511725197678

An IU Health spokesman confirmed that Baker is a registered nurse, but refused to reveal the hospital she is currently employed at.

‘IU Health is aware of several troubling posts on social media which appear to be from a recently hired IU Health employee,’ the hospital said in a statement.

‘Our HR department continues to investigate the situation and the authenticity of the posts. During the investigation, that employee (who does not work at Riley Hospital for Children) will have no access to patient care.’    here…..46B8165C00000578-5119231-image-a-44_1511725220967

Junior High Revisited

Junior High Revisited

I bramble around the internet viewing lotsa different sites, The Gateway Pundit is one I check because they seem to update faster than anyone on breaking stories, they also get in the weeds of the of the White House press briefings and the childish reporters present at the event.

Because it’s Trump and not Hillary in the White House the briefings have turned into petty squabbling by liberal reporters at whoever is the Press Secretary, currently it’s Sarah Huckabee Sanders. One of the more vitriolic and spiteful reporters is one April Ryan, I have watched a few videos of her interactions with Ms. Sanders and it’s obvious she has an agenda and doesn’t hide her disdain for Trump and his administration, including Sanders. But she’s sunk to a new low, even for a her.

April Ryan, White House reporter for American Urban Radio networks and CNN analyst, demanded President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders provide proof she baked a pie she tweeted a photo of on Thanksgiving Day.

So this college educated reporter wants proof that someone baked a pie on Thanksgiving. I had to read it twice, I couldn’t believe this narrow minded, shallow, intellectually challenged “reporter” went on social media and posted her juvenile challenge to the world.April

Why? Is she an adult? Is she threatened by Sanders homemaking skills? No, she is attempting to make Sanders look bad on the off chance Sanders didn’t actually bake a pie…….that’s it…….childish junior high antics. It’s like telling her school mates that a rival didn’t really by shoes at the local mall or questioning their reputation, yep that’s it, this “reporter” with actual White House press credentials went there.

Here is Ms. Sanders tweet that sent April over the edge:Sanders

It doesn’t matter if Ms. Sanders baked a pie or not. April Ryan is looking for anything that she can use as a weapon to make the Trump administration look bad because her bitch didn’t win.

This is what has become of the national media these days.pie
They should yank her press pass and never allow her at the White House briefing room ever again, at least that’s what a junior high Sarah Huckabee would do.

I can’t believe that I have to waste my time posting this garbage when it should be obvious and an embarrassment to whoever hired Ms. Ryan that she is a child acting as an adult doing adult stuff. If she were on my staff she’d be fired yesterday but I guess the American Urban Radio News condones this kind of behavior.2017-03-29t16-15-45-6z--1280x720.nbcnews-ux-1080-600

Shadows Of The Greatest

Shadows Of The Greatest

“Their achievement from 1941 to 1945 remains unprecedented. The United States on the eve of World War II had an army smaller than Portugal’s. It finished the conflict with a global navy larger than all of the fleets of the world put together. By 1945, America had a GDP equal to those of Germany, Japan, the Soviet Union, and the British Empire combined. With a population 50 million people smaller than that of the USSR, the United States fielded a military of roughly the same size.

America almost uniquely fought at once in the Pacific, Asia, the Mediterranean, and Europe, on and beneath the seas, in the skies, and on land. On the eve of the war, America’s military and political leaders, still traumatized by the Great Depression, fought bitterly over modest military appropriations, unsure of whether the country could afford even a single additional aircraft carrier or another small squadron of B-17s. Yet four years later, civilians had built 120 carriers of various types and were producing a B-24 bomber at the rate of one an hour at the Willow Run factory in Michigan. Such vast changes are still difficult to appreciate.

Certainly, what was learned through poverty and mayhem by those Americans born in the 1920s became invaluable in the decades following the war. The World War II cohort was a can-do generation who believed that they did not need to be perfect to be good enough. The strategic and operational disasters of World War II—the calamitous daylight bombing campaign of Europe in 1942-43, the quagmire of the Heurtgen Forest, or being surprised at the Battle of Bulge—hardly demoralized these men and women.

Miscalculations and follies were not blame-gamed or endlessly litigated, but were instead seen as tragic setbacks on the otherwise inevitable trajectory to victory. When we review their postwar technological achievements—from the interstate highway system and California Water Project to the Apollo missions and the Lockheed SR-71 flights—it is difficult to detect comparable confidence and audacity in subsequent generations. To paraphrase Nietzsche, anything that did not kill those of the Old Breed generation made them stronger and more assured.

As an ignorant teenager, I once asked my father whether the war had been worth it. After all, I smugly pointed out, the “victory” had ensured the postwar empowerment and global ascendance of the Soviet Union. My father had been a combat veteran during the war, flying nearly 40 missions over Japan as the central fire control gunner in a B-29. He replied in an instant, “You win the battle in front of you and then just go on to the next.”   Here….
