And I’ll Cry If I Want To

And I’ll Cry If I Want To

“Immigrants have NEVER been the backbone of America. America has been the backbone of America. “Immigrants” aren’t any more our “strength” than anyone else. “Diversity” is of precisely zero intrinsic value.” — Courtney Kirchoff

If the statement offends you, congratulations. You’re part of the problem. Because you see people through labels: “immigrants” is simply the one most in vogue. But America wasn’t “built by immigrants.” It was built by people who wanted to build America — a country that embraced a specific set of ideals, the mantle of which was freedom. The countries from which these individuals hailed was, and is, irrelevant. What mattered (and still matters) is a citizenry that wanted to build a great new country, taking part in the world’s greatest (and most successful) experiment.   Here….

Hey Hollywood….

Hey Hollywood….

….Fuck Off!!

All of you listed below used your acceptance speech to rant about federal immigration policy, please keep your opinions to yourselves you’re in over your skis.

Ashton KutcherTaraji P. Henson — Best movie (Hidden Figures), David Harbour — Best drama series (Stranger Things), Taylor Schilling — Best comedy series (Orange is the New Black), Emma Stone — Best actress (La La Land), Sarah Paulson — Best actress in a television movie or miniseries (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story), Julia Louis-Dreyfus — Best actress in a comedy series (Veep), William H. Macy — Best actor in a comedy series (Shameless), Mahershala Ali — Best supporting film actor (Moonlight), Bryan Cranston — Best actor in a television movie (All the Way), Lilly Tomlin — Lifetime achievement award

I don’t know who half of you are and I didn’t watch your award ceremony because I don’t watch award shows, but ya managed to piss me off anyway.

I have no time for self absorbed celebrities aggrandizing themselves and their fellow “actors/actresses”. You make a butt load of money acting and I applaud you for your craft, getting paid for memorizing lines, and acting like somebody you’re not. I do not applaud you for politics, keep it to yourselves, nobody cares. The people who do watch you are digitally lobotomized zombies who have nothing better to do than watch you be fake Bob or Karen. Embrace your constituents, leave the rest of us alone, were tired of your shit.

Most people can see through the veiled outrage but you’re actors, you know how to fake outrage. Put your money where your mouth is, take a few of your millions and build a shelter, invite a family of Syrians into your home, a few thousand into your neighborhood, I’m sure your community in all it’s high and mightiness would be thrilled with a refugee camp in your favorite park or golf course. This will give you a wonderful opportunity to find out what your wealthy neighbors, family, and local city of commerce think about your new found humanitarian efforts.

What’s that? You and your ilk don’t want refugees in your communities? Well neither do we you pompous ass hats, so shove your feigned outrage up your collective asses and let the adults do what they have to do, they have a country to secure while you get to go do playtime with your fellow actors and have the luxury of getting paid for it.

Until you have a few teenage male Somalians sleeping in the room down the hall, or a few thousand down the road, shut your fucking mouths on national TV preening about whatever perceived injustices have accosted your high minded morality, ’cause it’s all just an act and apparently somebody thought you deserved a shiny award for it.     Assholes.

You Can’t Fix Crazy

And an answer to her intellectually lazy talking points:

“And of course there is the immigration issue.  Every nation on Earth has immigration limits.  When 10% of your population is illegal, it is not immigration; it is invasion.  When you allow yourself to conflate reasonable immigration control with racism, you are being intellectually lazy.  And when you slander with wails of racism those who aren’t intellectually lazy, who admit that a country, no matter how wealthy, can’t absorb unlimited numbers of the desperately poor without inflicting hardship on the native population, you are guilty of not only intellectual laziness, but also character assassination.”

“The most important example of intellectual laziness is the claim that I can’t say something that offends you, but you can insult me, offend me, and stone me to death for disagreeing with you. Telling yourself you can discount other people’s opinions and don’t have to debate them because you have convinced yourself of your own moral superiority is the pinnacle of intellectual laziness.”    Here…

Check out your who owns your local tv stations. I come from a VERY conservative state, yet our news stations sound a lot like CNN or MSNBC.

I watch my local channels for sports and weather, unfortunately it seems they are parroting liberal media. Somebody is pushing the propaganda.

Bad Cheerleaders

Bad Cheerleaders

Listening to the radio and watching various news outlets the last week it occurred to me these idiots protesting are just a bunch of bad cheerleaders. I don’t recall Tea Party or right leaning groups gathering and chanting anything, it’s always the left.

So what do cheerleaders do? Irrespective of the teams success or failure, they jump up and down and wave their pom poms and chant whatever. Take away the smiles, pom poms, and short skirts and replace them with angry faces, signs, and purple hair and you have…..bad cheerleaders. And their effectiveness is about the same as a cheerleader at a sporting event, they determine nothing on the outcome of the game.
