A Blast From The Past To Obama

A Blast From The Past To Obama

This is the bag of goods he sold, all proven to be lies. Go get him Joe, but it’s not Democracy…It’s a Constitutional Republic.
“Democracy and liberty are not the same. Democracy is little more than mob rule, while liberty refers to the sovereignty of the individual.”

The Woman Who Was Just Doing Her Job

The Woman Who Was Just Doing Her Job

Here ya go. This is the lady that felt the need to save Illinois from this terrible unhealthy cupcake girl. Unbelievable.0

Amy Yeager, a health department spokeswoman, about the county’s decision to shut down Chloe’s business, she said that she was doing it for the sake of the public. “The rules are the rules. It’s for the protection of the public health,” Yeager said, according to the Post-Dispatch. “The guidelines apply to everyone.”
“People will react how they choose to react,” she added. “But it is our job.”

Really, it’s your job to shut down a little girls hobby. What if this little girl learned from her experience and started her own company and grew into a national chain that produced thousands of jobs, many right there in Illinois? Good job you liberal asshat, you just shot down a potential American dream for this little girl.

Chloe originally started selling the frosted cakes under the name “Hey, Cupcake” to save up for a car when she turns sixteen.

And before the government took her oven mitts, the sixth grader charged $10 for a dozen cupcakes and $2 for each specialty cupcake.

However, she was also known to donate her time and sprinkles to charity. When a boy in her school was diagnosed with cancer in 2012, she donated cupcakes to help raise money for his treatment. Adding a personal touch, she made them orange and blue because he “was a really big Cubs fan.”
Her largest order ever, amounting to 220 cupcakes, was also for a cancer fundraiser.

How do you feel now Ms. Yeager, you government bred hag?

Holder Doing His Best Hillary

Holder Doing His Best Hillary

It is difficult to follow this hearing and get any answers out of it. Holder is using a broad brush to claim silence in answering questions due to”ongoing investigation” integrity. At some point somebody has got to find a smoking gun on the lawless actions of the IRS as directed by the Obama administration. It is so obvious it makes me ill, and if you take Valerie Jarretts threat “our enemies will be punished” I can see no other conclusion.

“No, I don’t know anything about the political activities of any of the people who are involved in this investigation,” he said when Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) questioned him during a Justice Department oversight hearing.

Bullshit!

“As I said to I think it was maybe Senator Graham, I’m not going to discuss an ongoing investigation and what steps have been taken in connection with that investigation, and that is not something I’m only doing for this inquiry,” Holder responded.

“This would be an answer you would get from me for any investigation that the Justice Department was involved in. It is not appropriate for an attorney general or any Justice Department person to discuss an ongoing criminal investigation,” Holder added.

Lawyer double talk, seems to me that if you are in an oversight hearing, these people are Holders bosses and he should be forthright with any information they request. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to lose in disclosure.

Story behind this? Her dad was leaving on a 2 year deployment.
She was crying and wouldn’t let go of her dad’s hand, even when he stood in line saluting.
No one had the heart to break them apart.

Wonderful description of the current practice of the State of the Union Address and history of how it all changed…for the worse.
A Nod to Ace over at Ace of Spades HQ for the heads up.
____________________________________________________________________

The annual State of the Union pageant is a hideous, dispiriting, ugly, monotonous, un-American, un-republican, anti-democratic, dreary, backward, monarchical, retch-inducing, depressing, shameful, crypto-imperial display of official self-aggrandizement and piteous toadying, a black Mass during which every unholy order of teacup totalitarian and cringing courtier gathers under the towering dome of a faux-Roman temple to listen to a speech with no content given by a man with no content, to rise and to be seated as is called for by the order of worship — it is a wonder they have not started genuflecting — with one wretched representative of their number squirreled away in some well-upholstered Washington hidey-hole in order to preserve the illusion that those gathered constitute a special class of humanity without whom we could not live.

It’s the most nauseating display in American public life — and I write that as someone who has just returned from a pornographers’ convention.

It’s worse than the Oscars.

The national self-debasement begins well before the speech is under way. Members of Congress — supposedly free men and women serving as the elected representatives of the citizens of a self-governing republic — arrive hours early, camping out like spotty-faced adolescents waiting for Justin Bieber tickets, in the hope of staking out some prime center-aisle real estate that they might be seen on television, if only for a second or two, being greeted by the national pontifex maximus as he makes his stately procession into the chamber.

When the moment comes and the sergeant-at-arms utters the sacred words — “Mr. Speaker! The president of the United States!” — the chamber will erupt, as though the assembled have entirely forgotten that the mysterious entity that is the object of this curious act of national worship only a decade ago was an obscure legislator in a destitute and corrupt state, a man whose most prominent legislative accomplishment was the passage of a bill requiring police to videotape confessions in potential capital cases — in a state in which there were as a practical matter no potential capital cases. (Illinois had not carried out an execution during the century in which the law was passed and was on its way toward abolishing capital punishment categorically.)
